New Zealand Earthquake Today 2012 Strikes Opunake

CORAL GABLES (LALATE) – A New Zealand earthquake 2012 has struck Opunake. The New Zealand earthquake today July 3, 2012 erupted moments ago, shortly after 10:30 pm local time. The quake, however, had a substantial depth. No reports of injuries have yet to be reported by local news.
The New Zealand earthquake struck off the west coast of the North Island. USGS reports to news that a 6.2 magnitude quake erupted this evening locally. But the quake registered a depth of one hundred fifty miles below the earth’s surface. As a result, the quake was not felt across a wide section of the region.
The New Zealand earthquake struck thirty-five miles southwest of Opunake. Officials tell news that the quake was thirty-nine miles southwest of Hawera and sixty-four miles southwest of New Plymouth. The quake also erupted seventy-one miles west of Wanganui. No reports of damage have yet to be detailed by local news.
Mapping puts the quake southwest of Statford and Hastings, west of Taupo and Hamilton. The quake also struck northeast of Westport and Blenheim and northwest of Wellington.
Yesterday, a strong 5.7 terremoto struck Peru. The quake registered twenty-two miles below the earth’s surface and could be felt in Santiago and Ica. The quake was roughly forty-eight miles west of Nazca.
