Mexico City Airport Shooting Today – MEX Murder Shocks Terminal 2

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – A Mexico City Airport shooting has erupted Monday. The MEX murder at Terminal 2 left two persons dead, one injured. Mexico City International Airport officials have yet to indicate if the gunman has been arrested.
Mexico City Airport is not closed, nor under lockdown, after a murder erupted on Monday June 25, 2012. But two federal police officers were murdered in broad daylight today. The federal Public Safety Department tells news that the shooting happened in front of Mexico City’s international airport Terminal 2 near baggage check. No motive for the murder has yet to be determined by investigators.
Airport spokesman Jorge Gomez confirms the murder happened near the departure drop-off area. Local news reports that nearly one dozen shots were fired. But Gomez says the airport is open and it’s business as usual today. “Arrivals and departures have not been affected and everything else is operating normally in the terminal”.
In a news briefing today, Gomez did not indicate if the shooter has been arrested. “There has been a shooting here in the Terminal 2. As a result of this incident, two federal policemen lost their lives and another injured person has been taken to the hospital.” He also told news “We still don’t know why the shooting happened.”
