Erika Bonilla FBI Case Prompts Debrahlee Lorenzana Similarity

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – When the Erika Bonilla FBI case (photos below) erupted this month, immediately similarities to the Debrahlee Lorenzana surfaced. In 2010, Debrahlee Lorenzana dominated news for her “too hot for Citibank” dispute. Now Erika Bonilla is detailing how the FBI allegedly treated her because of her own workplace appearance.
Erika Bonilla claims that the FBI allegedly wrongly allows its employees to be ridiculed by other employees about everything from their music career to their career advancement. Bonilla claims that, despite such alleged harassment, she continued to excel in her workplace, getting improved valuations from supervisors and more advancements.
But after workers allegedly claimed that Erika Bonilla slept with her supervisor for advancement, allegedly claimed that she didn’t pay taxes on her singing career, and allegedly asserted that she was only promoted because of her curves, Bonilla had enough.
Bonilla claims her harassment came from co-workers, but that supervisors allowed it to continue. Lorenzana, in turn, claimed that she was harassed by her supervisors.
Lorenzana claimed in 2010 that she was told by bosses to change her clothing selections. Lorenzana said bosses, all male apparently, told her that her turtlenecks, pencil skirts, three-inch heels, and fitted business suits were not appropriate for work. But her employer denied those allegations.

Bonilla said the conduct was so bad that she was ultimately given a suspension without pay for ten days bending in a permanent record suspension. Bonilla asserts that she did nothing to bring upon such alleged conduct against her.

Bonilla reveals that, the more she complained, the more she was allegedly harassed. On Dec. 7, 2009, she filed a complaint with the FBI’s Equal Employment Opportunity Affairs of employment discrimination. She claims that complaint resulted in retaliation. That retaliation is now part of her complaint against the FBI.

As Bonilla sought redress she claims she was given retaliatory punishment. “The Agency knew that Ms. Bonilla was in fact being harassed and retaliated against,” the suit claims. “The damage was done as to Ms. Bonilla and the agency did nothing to rectify what happened.”

The purported conduct occurred in the office’s New Mexico division. But now Bonilla “has now relocated to another office in California because of harassment and has since received good ratings at her new location, even obtaining an award.”
