Megan Crafton Photos Released in Controversial Cheerleading Coach Scandal

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – A Megan Crafton mugshot picture has been released in the cheerleading coach scandal. Megan Crafton (photos below) was a cheerleading coach at Shelbyville High School when she admitted to have relations with a 17 year old male boy. The boy was on the Shelbyville basketball team. But therein rests the debate.
Crafton claims that during her work at Shelbyville High School she had no supervision over the teen boy. Her lawyer told a court this week “She wasn’t his coach. She wasn’t his teacher. She wasn’t his teacher’s assistant.”

The issue is key for Crafton. In Indiana where she was charged, the legal age of consent is 16. But it is illegal to have relations with someone under the age of 18 if you have supervision over them in your workplace.

Crafton’s jury trial will start September 24. She is expected to argue that she did have relations with the 17 year old but that such relations were legal. She is expected to argue that, as a female cheerleading coach, she did not have supervision over a male member of the basketball team, over the age of legal consent.
Crafton’s boyfriend has yet to comment about the matter. At the time of the encounter, she was reportedly engaged to a local man.

She is facing a felony conviction. No wedding date has been set for Crafton. And the school is not commenting about the matter. Crafton has yet to tell news if she and the 17 year old basketball player are still together. She admits to having relations with the boy in her car inside a grocery store’s parking lot.

I think she has a good case. It sounds like a bit of a witchhunt. Isnt the L.A. PD known for behaving like this. If she hires a good lawyer, I think she can win. Might now be allowed to coach in the L.A. area again. Please report what happened in this case.
