Andrew McDougall, Tennis Line Coach, Injured by David Nalbandian

ST LOUIS (LALATE) – Andrew McDougall, a tennis line coach, was injured by player David Nalbandian Sunday (video below). Now the alleged assault against Andrew McDougall is heading to prosecutors.

Police tell news this week that they are investigating the Andrew McDougall case. They also confirm that a complaint was filed against David Nalbandian. But they would not release the identity of the person who filed the complaint. Argentinean tennis player David Nalbandian injured the line judge during the Queen’s Club tennis tournament on Sunday June 17, 2012.

The injury came during a match between David Nalbandian and Marlin Cilic. During one tirade, Nalbandian hit a board; the board then hit the judge; and McDougall was left with injured leg.

Nalbandian was fined $12,500 and told to surrender all tournament winnings. “We are aware of an incident at the Aegon Championships,” police said in a news statement this week. “A complaint has been made and the Metropolitan Police Service is now investigating. The allegation is of assault.”

In November 2009, Venues Williams was fined a record sum for her U.S. Open outburst. Her $82,500 fine broke a previous record set by Jeff Tarango of $48,000. Yet Williams still defended her outburst at the time. “I did not threaten to kill you. Are you serious? “An apology from me? How many people yell at lines people? I see it happening all the time†she told news. USTA said at the time “As a role model, it’s important for a leader like Serena to step forward and recognize her behavior last night was unacceptable.â€
