Little Cove Fire Map Prompts Utah Lake Wildfire Support

ST LOUIS (LALATE) – The Little Cove Fire (map below) is prompting support today. The latest Utah wildfires today are erupting near Redwood Road, approaching Utah Lake. Officials tell news that the Little Cove Fire broke out this afternoon.
The Little Cove Fire has quickly grown to thirty acres this Friday June 15, 2012. Officials are still unsure if any structures are threatened. But they believe that the nearest structures are south of the fire. As many as five crews were dispatched to the fire shortly before 4 PM local time today. Winds are fueling the fire’s spread. Gusts are reaching a reported 15 mph, officials tell news.
The Little Cove Fire is still isolated where Redwood Road approaches Utah Lake. Jason Curry, public information officer for the Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands, is still unsure if structures are threatened. But he does note that the fire is spreading uphill, and northward, currently. He believes that the only neighboring structures are situated to the south, several miles away.
One water tanker is offering support within the hour. The fire is spreading thirteen miles north of Elberta, officials warned news.
