Uruguay vs. Peru 2012: Cristian Gabriel Rodríguez Delivers Winning Goal

CORAL GABLES (LALATE) – In today’s Uruguay vs. Peru 2012, Cristian Gabriel Rodríguez delivered the game wining goal. While Luis Suarez produced Uruguay’s first goal in today’s match at the fourteen minute mark, Rodríguez’s final shot at the sixty-two minute mark solidified the team’s win Sunday.
But the Uruguay vs. Peru action wasn’t over with Rodriguez. In the final minutes of the game, Sebastián Eguren Vazquez scored for Uruguay once again. For Peru, today’s outcome was not as predicted. The team had produced goals from Godin and Guererro. But in a final score of 4-2, Peru just couldn’t stop the strong offense by Uruguay in the second half.
Peru came into this game ranked last in the 2014 World Cup Qualifying Conmebol table. But today’s win put Uruguay closer to table leader Chile. Currently, Chile is ranked first in the table with twelve points, Argentina second with ten. Uruguay and Venezuela are each tied in third with eight while Colombia is in fifth with seven point. Conmebol officials remind news that the top four countries in the Conmebol will advance. As a result, just two point separate three teams from advancing or being eliminated.
Yesterday, Venezuela vs Chile surprised news with a stunning 0-2 victory for Chile, while Bolivia vs Paraguay ended with an impressive 3-1 win for the Bolivians.
