Pacquiao Fight 2012 Start Time Tonight Prompts Unnecessary Confusion

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – When does the Pacquiao fight 2012 start tonight? The Manny Pacquiao fight start time is still as normally scheduled, officials tell news. But Pacquiao’s camp thought it would be clever to suggest his fight’s start time will somehow change because of basketball tonight. Critics aren’t believing the assertions by Pacquiao’s camp to news.
For every Pacquiao and Mayweather fight in recent years, the main event fight usually has a start time of roughly 9:15 PST / 12:15 EST. Boxing fans know that Pacquiao’s fights never enters the ring at 11 EST or earlier.
But this week, Pacquiao’s camp allegedly thought it would generate publicity, which it did, to suggest that the fight would be held due to the NBA Playoffs. News analysts didn’t by the public relations pick.
Bob Arum told news this week “I’m not waiting for Manny’s request on this one.” He added “Now Manny, the Heat, the Celtics and sports fans watching the basketball game won’t have to make a choice between events. They will be able to watch both.”
Sports Illustrated’s Chris Mannix has since told news that in no way would the Celtics game ever run over Pacman’s normal start time. “Let’s clear things up Re: Pacquiao/Celtics. No. 1, most important, IT’S A PR PLOY! 8:30 tip, MP likely won’t fight till 12:15. Irrelevant.”
Mannix added “No. 2, anyone that thinks MP will be sitting in the back, watching the Celtics-Heat is nuts. He will be warming up, focusing on fight. Will he catch a glimpse? Maybe. Will he be told the score. More likely. Will he refuse to come to the ring if it goes OT? No shot.” For live updates tonight, click HERE.
