Japan Earthquake Today 2012 Strikes off Coast of Honshu

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – A strong Japan earthquake today 2012 struck off the coast of Honshu. The Japan earthquake today Friday, June 08, 2012 erupted in the afternoon hours. No reports of injuries have yet to be detailed by local news.
The Japan earthquake today was located near the same epicenter of countless quakes in recent months. The quake was near the east coast of Honshu and erupted just after 2:22 PM today. USGS indicates to news that the quake registered a 5.0 magnitude.
The quake, however, had a moderate depth. The quake struck roughly twenty-five miles below the earth’s surface. USGS indicates that today’s quake was further from Tokyo than a recent neighboring quake. The quake was one hundred seventy-four miles north east of Tokyo. The quake was sixty-five miles east of Honshu town of Iwaki, seventy-four miles east of the Honshu community of Sendai and eighty miles east of Fukushima.
In related news, local residents are still cleaning up the damage from yesterday’s strong 6.0 magnitude quake in Peru. The quake erupted just before noon time. The Peru quake, however, had a substantial depth, erupting sixty-two miles below the earth’s surface. USGS indicates to news that the quake was seventy-two miles from Arequipa and four hundred miles from Lima.
