Timothy Poe America’s Got Talent Scandal Adds Fake Photo

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – For Timothy Poe, America’s Got Talent used a fake photo. The above photo was used to describe Timothy Poe’s military service in Afghanistan. But the photo isn’t of Tim Poe. It’s of Norman Bone.
Timothy Poe and America’s Got Talent network NBC are not commenting about the latest scandal development. Poe claims he is not a liar; AGT producers have no comment about Poe’s assertions about military service. But now the above picture used by NBC during its telecast about Poe has been revealed to be of someone else.
NBC and Poe have yet to comment about the photo. Neither is indicating to news who decided to use the picture during the AGT telecast, and by which means the picture was obtained for the “reality” competition. But the picture currently appears on the U.S. Department of Defense website.
The military even indicates the subject of the photo is Bone. “U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Norman Bone directs movement as his patrol turns around on a narrow path in the mountains of Parwan province in Afghanistan on Oct. 25, 2006. Bone is a patrol leader for the 561st Military Police Company, Fort Campbell, Ky., attached to 10th Mountain Division” reads the pictures’ description.
Tim Poe has already defended his assertions on America’s Got Talent in subsequent news statements. But critics do not believe him. First, Poe told news that he served in the National Guard for fourteen years. He didn’t, confirms the Minnesota Army National Guard to news. Second, Poe claimed that he stutters because of war injuries. His ex-wife says he has never stuttered before in his life. Third, Poe claims he was injured by a grenade during military service. He claims he suffered the injury during 2009 combat in Afghanistan. The military claims it has no record of that injury either.

If this is all true, it ranks right along with stealing wheel chairs and selling fake medicine. I hope justice is done, so that others see that doing this has consequences.

I think after a scandal like this people around the country will coin a new phrase: “Oh my Poe!” This is certainly a serious accusation, and if true, I can’t imagine what could be the implications for his future quality of life. I hope that doesn’t put a damper on the show as a whole though because I think it is the best way to watch TV this summer. Since these shows are an hour long, I’m glad I can watch the show in the time it takes me to get ready for working at Dish, all because I can watch commercial free with Auto Hop.
