LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – A video in the Luka Rocco Magnotta investigation is prompting further inquiry by Montreal, Canada Police, they now tell news. The video participant has not been identified as Luka Rocco Magnotta by police. But in a news update today, police do confirm the video depicts a crime. Moreover, details of the video bare a resemblance to the crime scene in the Luka Rocco Magnotta investigation.
Magnotta is still being sought by investigators today. But more details about a video posted online are being released to news today. The video was entitled “1 Lunatic 1 Ice Pick” and was posted to the website Best Gore. There is no date, nor time stamp, as to when the video was recorded.
Yet police tell news today that, when they went to Luka Rocco Magnotta’s apartment in Montreal, they found inside a blood stained mattress. The video shows a man being killed on a mattress. Police also tell news today that they believe Luka Rocco Magnotta discarded body parts behind his apartment building.
The video also shows a man being fatally slashed. And in both the video and the Magnotta case, the victim is male. The video was posted online on May 25, National Post reports. The Magnotta case erupted after discoveries by mail and police investigators on May 29.
Magnotta’s family hasn’t seen him in years. A relative told the Ottawa Citizen paper “He hurt us when he was younger and we haven’t been in contact with him in a while. We heard about all of this on the news and then the police called and asked us to let them know if he calls us.”
Police Commander Ian Lafreniere tells news that he is unsure if Magnotta is in the country, or has fled to Europe. But he tells news “As a father, I would have trouble sleeping at night knowing that the suspect was in my neighborhood.”
Officials have yet to confirm to news if the video is linked to Magnotta, in any way. But the Globe and Mail is claiming today “Montreal police believe that the … murder … was captured on video and posted… “It is a video of the murder,” a Montreal police official confirmed to The Globe. “
Magnotta once wrote on his website “Individuals with their own agenda that have way too much time on their hands, who feel the need to bad mouth others under the cloak of anonymity on the internet…. I’m sure everyone can relate to cowardly actions by individuals who they no longer wish to speak to.”
He added “They try with all their might to cause mischief, in hopes it will make me go crawl under a rock, but in reality it only makes them look like fools committing criminal harassment. They feel as though they have power hiding behind anonymity. Attempting to antagonize someone in order to get them to respond is naive and ridiculous. It takes two people to argue and I refuse to engage in such childish nonsense. Everyone has skeletons in their closets.”
He further wrote “I will not quit living my life, because of other people’s short comings. If they have failed at succeeding in living a healthy, happy and productive life, then that is a pity, however I will not be intimidated to stop living mine.”
He says that he has been wrongly accused of previous matters as well. “Some people refuse to acknowledge that I don’t want anything to do with them and they are in denial.” As to his family, he notes “The only people that matter to me are my family and a select few individuals I am privileged to call friends, everyone else’s opinions of me do not count nor do they matter and they hold no merit.”
