LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Who won Dancing with the Stars 2012? The Dancing with the Stars 2012 winner tonight ended a season with stunning results and top performances. News predictions before tonight’s May 22, 2012 results telecast anticipated that Katherine Jenkins would win DWTS. On Monday,  Jenkins and Mark Ballas shocked news with not one but two perfect dances. But in a DWTS season 2012, where scoring has been super close, did someone other than Katherine dance off with the win tonight?

Last night, the judges all suggested that the Dancing with the Stars 2012 winner was Katherine Jenkins. While her competitors each earned at least one perfect dance, only Katherine picked up two perfect scores for her dances. Yet, by Tuesday, most news analysts also anticipated that Jenkins and Ballas would win as well.

Throughout the season, Jenkins has dominated scoring, week to week. But Donald Driver has been strong recently along with William Levy. So was there a shocker in the end?

First up last night was William Levy and Cheryl Burke on the cha-cha. They earned a perfect thirty score. Len told news “Good as I’ve ever seen in 14 seasons of cha-cha-cha!” Bruno agreed, adding “Your hip action leaves me green with envy.” And Carrie Ann called it simply “sophistication in the movement.”

But Katherine Jenkins and Mark Ballas followed that up with her own perfect score as well on the paso doble. Len told news it was fabulous, Bruno called it “vivid”, and Carrie Ann said “It was like watching a prima ballerina”.

Thereafter, Len started to pass out “nine” scores, not “tens”. On Donald Driver and Peta Murgatroyd, Len gave the sole “nine” score. Len told news “I felt there was far more concept.” Bruno disagreed, stating “it was very, very effective.” And Carrie Ann called it “crispness in all the moves.”

Len then passed out another “nine” score to William Levy and Cheryl Burke on the freestyle. Len said it was too normal, predictable. Bruno said “You were like two devils”. And Carrie Ann added that it was perfect. But did fans agree?

In contrast to her competitors, Katherine got a “ten” from Len on her next dance, the freestyle. “This is a freestyle” he told news. Bruno agreed, telling news “I have never seen so much content!” And Carrie Ann added “you are a champion”.

While Katherine dominated news predictions for a win tonight, Donald and Peta also headlined some reports as possible winners as well. Their key dance was the freestyle last night which earned a thirty. Len said it was “fantastic”. Bruno remarked “A country-inspired triumph”. And Carrie Ann told news  “This is my favorite finals and that is my favorite dance tonight!”

But in the end, after an incredible season of stellar performances, winning tonight’s Dancing with the Stars 2012 … was Donald Driver!
