American Idol 2012 Top 2 Results Tonight Prompt Joshua Ledet Elimination
LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – American Idol 2012 Top 2 result tonight prompted a stunning elimination. Who was eliminated on American Idol tonight and who is going to the finals? Before Top 2 results for May 17, 2012, Jessica Sanchez, Phillip Phillips, and Joshua Ledet all gave exceptional performances. Unlike previous seasons of Idol, this final three was stellar. Last night, three singers delivered three songs. But tonight, Idol delivered two finalists and one singer a shocking elimination.
Last night, Jessica Sanchez earned top praises from news analysts for her delivery of I’ll Be There. Randy Jackson however didn’t like it. “I didn’t love it” he told Jessica. Jennifer disagreed, stating “That was a good choice from Jimmy.” Steven also agreed, proclaiming it simply “wonderful.”
Joshua Ledet with No More Drama, however, earned unanimous approval from the judges. Randy told news “People should just stand up and vote for you”. Jennifer agreed, saying “it feels so natural”. And Steven called it “beautiful”.

Phillip Phillips’ Disease, however, got negative reviews from the judges. Randy remarked “I didn’t like it either.” Jennifer said it “was an easy … performance from you. It was good.” And Steven wasn’t impressed. “It wasn’t over the top.” But did viewers agree?

Joshua Ledet earned top praise from news analyst for his rendition of Imagine. Randy said it was masterful. Jennifer said “It was almost like you were preaching while you are singing.” And Steve said it was “another thank you god moment.”

But earlier in the night, Phillip was dominating the judges’ praise. Phillips was unstoppable on Beggin. All three judges loved it. Randy told news that it was like “we were just at a Phil Phillips concert right there.” Jennifer said “you ride that all the way home.” And Steve used his favorite word, “beautiful”, yet again.

Jessica with My All earned top marks from Randy Jackson. But Jennifer wasn’t so sure. “You did it in your own way.” Steve however noted “When you sing you make people hang on your every note.”

I am no longer going to watch American Idol !it’s already decided on nobpdy on the show had a better voice than Joshua.All of these shows are just as our times it doesn’t matter how good you are but what the show has planned. It not about who sings the best If i know as a person I voted over two hundred time you know it was set up. Iam done American Who?

I am truly disappointed in Joshua leaving at this juncture where he showed a gift, showmanship and true American spirit. The “save” afforded Jessica led to this unfortunate situation. Joshua and Phillip were/are clearly representative of what viewers want.
Idol is starting to lose its intended focus (and viewers like me)!

Well said aletha.. This show has turned into the pretty white boy show and its getting real old.. All you have to do to win AI is be a good looking young white boy.. But remember althea its all about their tv ratings and phil is every teenie boopers dream.. So sad its come to this…

american idol is officially a joke. phillip phillips can’t even sing. the show should be renamed ‘teenage girls’ idol’, and then cancelled.

How could Phil Phillips be original??? I can name hundreds of vocalists of local bands who can sing like him.. His voice doesn’t even stand out.. Vocally, he is WEAK! Most boring finale ever. Phil is no match for Jessica. Jess vs. Joshua would have been more exciting… Young girls and gays vote for Phil because he is hot. So frustrating…

Very frustrated, was up last night voting for Joshua. He really should have gone through to the finals. People say he screams, they fail to realize every singer has a distinctive sound and he grew up singing gospel.
Jennifer Lopez is right when she says he has a gift. It’s the whole package- he has a lot of soul and passion and I’m certain with the right management he’d do great things.
Jessica has a fab voice, sometimes she does a bit too much with it showing off. Joshua is also over the top some times but you feel his soul.
I stopped watching Phillip Phillips a long time ago. He just doesn’t have it. But again, that’s just one opinion- mine. There must be something that others see which I’m sadly missing.

I honestly don’t know why everybody’s so upset about Joshua leaving. Don’t get me wrong, he has an amazing voice but he was predictable and boring to watch. He always sounded the same to me and wasn’t that interstitial after a while. I think he caters to an older crowd and, while he might go far, he wasn’t American Idol material. As a teen I believe that whoever wins should be young and youthful, even though Josh was only 20, his style was more old fashioned and it didn’t make me want to buy one of his CD’s. The elimination of Josh reminded me that we have came very far in racial relations in this country. as a veteran who was injured fight for this country I would have hiped that we as a nation had come farteher than this. Phillip and Jessica are good singer but do not compare in any way to Josh and I agree with many others that it more popular to be a white boy from GA than a blake make who sings his ass off every night from LA. so white is right and black is out just like it has always been.

I don’t understand why anyone would be upset (-aside from die-hard Josh fans). The three of them were great in their own way. But that’s what this show is about. What people would want as their “idol”. It’s a bonus if they’re a great singer. I’m sorry but I just think the Jessica save was probably a set up for more viewer ratings. She deserves to be at the top 2. And if you’re talking about race at least it’s time for a Mexican Filipino to take a win. Hispanics are also a majority race of this country

Well I was really upset late night. I watching along with my mother each show this was great for us. We love watching Josh sing and his showmanship. Along with Phillip they did not just stand a sing but put creativity in performance unlke Jessica she can sing but just not ready for stage. My mother and I are not watching anymore not exciting anymore.

Josh is so annoying. See the strick? Straight years with white guys with guitars. the industry has no place for Joshua’s growls. I bet Jessica will lose. She is nothing compared to Philip. No place for them on the industry. We will be pouring ourr votes for Philip he is to talented!!! He deserves to win!!! WE LOVE YOU P2!!! Vote for philipp until the end of the show!!!

I did not say Philip deserved to win. I just said it was not a conspiricy. Jessica deserves to win hands down. Joshuas was way to self absourbed and it showed and people do not like that. Great voice for broadway. Not as an idol for young people.

It seems to me viewers thought Phillip was the better performer than Joshua, however I agree with Randy that Joshua really knows how to pull the audience into a spiritual experience with him. I was singing praised when I was able to see the show on Wednesday morning, rather than waiting until the weekend, when I would normally have time to watch. I am so thankful for how I have Auto Hop on my PrimeTime Anytime recordings so I can watch commercial free. That saved me over 40 minutes of time watching so I could get the whole thing in before I left for work. Now I can talk with everyone else around the Dish water cooler and not worry about hearing the results accidentally.
