ORANGE COUNTY (LALATE EXCLUSIVE) – Two Real Housewives of Orange County cast members are considering leaving the show. Could a RHOC housewife and another cast member not be returning to the Bravo reality show after their current contract obligations are fulfilled? The decision has still not been reached. But who are the cast members?
In the last two years, RHOC has undergone dramatic transformations. And yet, despite whether fans have been applauded or disliked those changes, the shuffles have worked wonders on the ratings.
Roughly one year ago, LALATE exclusively reported how Bravo ratings were struggling with no apparent consistent storyline through the season. After attempts to mix Fernanda Rocha and Peggy Tanous into the cast, Bravo at the end of last season found a ratings-draw in Tamra Barney’s blockbuster encounter with Jeana Keough. That conflict at the end of season six proved to be the biggest ratings jump for the Bravo that season.
But while season six struggled in earlier episodes, this season seven has been strong since its debut. Each episode has grown in ratings with the addition of Heather Dubrow and her husband. Moreover, as reported this week on LALATE, the conflicts Vicki Gunvalson has brought to the season have been ratings gold. From the shocker about her daughter’s wedding, conflicts about Brooks Ayers, and her tensions with Tamra, Vicki unlike previous seasons has been giving week-to-week viral responsive storylines for Bravo.
But now, two cast members tell fans and news that are unsure if they will return to RHOC once their contractual obligations are fulfilled. So who are they?
On May 1, Jim Bellino was asked “If you’re so against the show, why do you continue to do it?” The questioner was not clear if the “you” was plural (Alexis and Jim) or singular (just Jim). But Jim Bellino answered “Number one, contractual obligations, and number two, somebody needs to keep it real.”
But this week, another question was proffered to Jim Bellino. When asked “Will you [Jim Bellino] and Alexis [Bellino] continue to do the show even after contractual obligations are fulfilled?”, Jim Bellino replied “deliberating”.
Bravo has yet to comment about Bellino’s repeated, often negative, statements about the show, its editing, and the portrayal of his wife on his blog.
Jim Bellino claims that Bravo doesn’t have an interest in showing a “happy functioning family” on RHOC. When asked “Is there a reason why Bravo doesn’t show more family scenes with your family the way they do with all the other couples” he replied “My opinion is that they think a happy functioning family makes for boring TV.”
He then claims that Bravo wont shows Alexis’ interest or hobbies. When questioned “Since Bravo will probably never show it—what are some hobbies or interests that you and Alexis do” he replied “Going to the mall or bowling, anything that’s family time. We enjoy that.”
While the Bellinos are still deliberating, Jim Bellino writes “In my mind, when this show is over, I will still be the breadwinner for my family. What Alexis brings to the table with her various careers and businesses is exceptional, and I am very proud of her.”
