American Idol 2012 Top 6 Results Tonight Prompt Colton Dixon Elimination
LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – American Idol 2012 Top 6 results tonight ended with a shocking elimination. After American Idol 2012 Top 6 results last week ended with Jessica Sanchez’s elimination and save, many fans were wondering if Sanchez could be sent home tonight April 19, 2012, instead. Last night, the judges told news that America should vote for Jessica. But did America agree?
The last time any of the American Idol 2012 judges told viewers to advance a singer was the week with DeAndre. This week, Jennifer Lopez, who urged American to vote for DeAndre, told America to advance Jessica. Randy said the same and said he hopes America “votes for you this week”. But in early results tonight, there was trouble for one singer. Right off the bat, Joshua Ledet and Hollie Cavanagh were called to the stage.
And with that, Ryan Seacrest sent Hollie to the bottom three.
One week ago, Hollie Cavanagh dominated most news analysts’ predictions for elimination. But she didn’t even end in the bottom three. Last week, Joshua, Jessica, and Elise were sent to the bottom three, instead.
A week ago, most fans thought Hollie was in trouble, however, not Jessica. They thought her performance of Perfect wasn’t perfect. Randy said it “wasn’t perfect but you redeemed yourself this week.” Jennifer agreed and Steven Tyler bluntly said “It wasn’t perfect tonight for me.”

This week, however, the same judges praised Hollie and used the word “perfect” this time around. Randy this week said Hollie on Rolling was “close to perfect” and Steven said it was a “perfect” performance. Hollie, however, has been the bottom three before. Two weeks ago, the bottom three was DeAndre Brackensick, Hollie Cavanagh and Elise Testone.

But many news analyst contended Elise was not in trouble this week. Elise’s performance of No One prompted Steven to call it “beautiful”, Randy to love it, and Jennifer to praise it. But did viewers agree. But midway through the telecast, Skylar Laine and Elise were brought to the middle stage.
And Elise was sent to the bottom three.
Nigel Lythgoe prewarned viewers tonight that they will possibly not be happy with tonight’s results. Nigel wrote “Yes, we have another BIG shock on #AmericanIdol tonight. Wow, we are going to have a lot of unhappy people tonight.”

Many fans are still bothered by the elimination and save of Jessica last week. Jessica Sanchez drew huge praises from the judges last week with Stuttering. Randy said “Tonight you set the bar really high.” Jennifer Lopez said she wanted Jessica to sing with “impact… and take us on a ride.” Steve simply said “When I hear you sing, I forget where I am.”
Fans on twitter seemed to embrace her performance as well. Of Jessica, they wrote last week “She got me wanting to listen to Jazmine Sullivan now.” Another added “Jessica Sanchez just killed that Jazmine Sullivan song on American Idol….She got an amazing talent.”

Until last week, Jessica had never ended in the bottom three this season. Jessica Sanchez delivered sweet notes week to week, even earlier this month with Sweet Dreams. Randy Jackson was blown away, telling news “I say it all the time, but stars are truly born.” Steven Tyler agreed, stating “You really know your notes.”
But in the end, Jessica did not end in the bottom three. Elise, Hollie, and Colton finished tonight in the bottom three. And sent home was … Colton Dixon.

It’s the choice of songs. The song may be the most difficult to do but the audience in general do not respond likewise as very few really have the capacity to comprehend real talent. The song must be appealing to the widest audience and only then can you get their vote.

I think threre is something wrong with the voting. Are the votes right. Does someone check them. They nne to to make sure someone is not messing with the votes.

C’mon people, these judges picked these people, they know how special they are. Jessica has been awesome throughout, FAR FAR beyond her years, the others, not so much. So why can’t they say they love her style and singing? It is on key, with incredible diversity, and DYNAMICS. I have not been this excited about a contestant since Jennifer Hudson and Kelly Clarkson, and for the guys, Daughtry.

There is nothing wrong with the voting. Without question, colton sang the worst of the group plast night. I like colton. But he just didnt sound good last night, on either song! Everyone else sang like absolute professionals. I am shocked that he is off just because he has the young female vote. But after the show our first comments were : colton is no match for every other singer up there. None. Compare the vocals! Dont look at he image. Colton has an ok voice but he is ordinary. Results were amazingly 100% accurate. I could not believe it

It is c p that colton got sent home! He is one of the best. They should have sent Jessica home last week and saved Colton today.

This should have been the bottom three last week. I do think Elise should have gone this week, but Colton would have been voted off soon anyway even if he was saved. I think the next 2 to go, will be Elise and Hollie as it should be.

Everyone needs to understand that not everybody is in love with your favorite.
My second favorite on the show is Hollie, but when the judges tell her she isn’t performing well or she ends up in the bottom three, I’m not surprised, just disappointed. Not because I understand, but because, I realize that not everyone is attracted to her music.
So when your favorite is kicked… don’t be surprised… unless it’s Philip.

I guess it’s sad to see anyone of the remaining idols go. But they are all winners to at this stage. I hope Colton gets the opportunity he deserves out there in the real world.

I like Colton but i’m glad that it was him that left instead of Elise. In my opinion Phillip and Elise have the most unique voices and style, although Joshua and Jessica have amazing vocal ranges. Elise is my favorite! I like hollie’s attitude and she can sing…. pretty
but I’d much rather hear more from everyone else.

Rubbish result! This show used to be about finding someone who has the complete package – someone that the public would pay to see. Colton was that – he is the only one that will succeed. Jessica is boring, Hollie is sweet but not a ticket seller, Joshua is predictable, Skylar is a wannabe Shania, Elise is odd in that her voice is nice but the whole package would be great for the 1970’s, and then there’s Phillip – a pub singer. Well done to the judges and the producers for dodging the votes. Off to the Voice I go – bye bye Idol.

Colton is by far one of the best he is unique and one of a kind its a bummer he got screwed by society. He will go places and do it on his own with out some fixed show. You guys have to understand that the judges are trying to rock the vote. I love Jessica but whenever she sings bad the judges say she was amazing because they want her to stay. And then when you have Hollie she sings good sometimes but they always say bad stuff. I was devastated when Colton left I thought the contestants should have LEFT in order. Holly, Jessica, Skyler, Colton, Elise, Joshua, Phil.

I agree @bev. She is one of the best. I like Phillip as well. Jess and josh both have the best ranges, followed by Hollie and Elise. Phillip and Colton are both good, but both can’t continually get the young girl vote, so one had to go. I am glad that one was Colton, and not Phillip. Hollie and Elise have been in the bottom three many times, so those two were no surprise. That is why I WAS surprised last week when Hollie was not in the bottom three. I questioned that a bit last week, but she was back where she usually is with elise. Personally IMO, based on this week, Elise should have gone. But I think her and Hollie will be the next 2 to go. Top 4 will be Phillip, Jessica, Joshua and Skylar. Skylar is alright IMO, a little annoying to me and the while country thing is a bit over played, so if Jessica Joshua or Phillip win, I wouldn’t mind one bit. Although, Jess and josh have the best ranges, I would pry most likely want to listen to Phillip in my car. This year I think was definitely one of the best for talent. Everyone better vote for their favorite this year, cuz anyone could win.

This is the best season for talent ever. I can’t understand the fuss over Joshua & Jessica tho. I don’t like screamers & both have gone that route. Philip is best & Hollie keeps getting better & better. I’d love to see those two in the finale.
