The Real Housewives The Game uses Facebook to Broaden Bravo Reach

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – “The Real Housewives The Game” will use Facebook.com to broaden Bravo’s reach. In The Real Housewives The Game, RHONY’s Ramona Singer and Countess Luann will become larger than life, if they aren’t already. Ramona’s eyes and Luann’s singing could be featured in the video game, slated to be launched by the network in conjunction with RHONY’s new season.

The Real Housewives The Game won’t be Bravo’s first time to move its reality TV stars into a gaming environment. Bravo has already dabbled with the concept through “Turtle Time” launched last September.

Countess LuAnn fumed last season “Alex, go back to the closet you came out of!”  Now Bravo will allow fans to go into LuAnn’s closets in different virtual environments. No word if Pinot Grigio is included.

The platform will allow fans to “create a unique identity, interact with their favorite Housewives and construct individual storylines, inspired by the Bravo series” says the network in a news statement today. You won’t be able to pass out any Skinnygirl drinks, but you will be able to your “own virtual environment – from city condo to Hampton’s beach house – and climb the social ladder by participating in challenges only a Housewife knows how to handle.”

While fans for years have wondered how they too can become real housewives, now they can, virtually. “Virtual Housewives can vicariously place themselves in the action of the show by living out scenes that occur on the linear series each week.”

Bravo will give online fans recognition during series TV broadcasts. “Furthermore, gamers have the opportunity to bring their real-life friends into their virtual social circle. Players that excel in a variety of categories such as “Best Apartment,” “Hottest Wardrobe” and “Highest Social Standing” will be awarded with on-air recognition during the live series.”

Lisa Hsia, Executive Vice President of Bravo Digital Media, said in a news statement today that “This new game is a great opportunity for Bravo to take our passionate viewers into the content. By bringing ‘The Real Housewives’ into a social setting, fans can now experience the franchise through television, social media and in their own virtual reality.” The game will launch currently with the fifth season of The Real Housewives of New York City.
