ST LOUIS (LALATE) – Island Cove Marina suffered massive tornado damage moments ago. Island Cove Marina in Harrison, TN is one of several sections of Tennessee that was hit with substantial tornado destruction Friday March 2, 2012.

The Weather Channel is reporting news of residential and commercial property damage in Cleveland, TN. “Some home/property damage in Cleveland, TN” said the news channel in a statement moments ago. Video posted online showed downed power lines and large trees.

But the damage appeared to be even worse in Island Cove Marina. One picture posted online showed vessels almost unrecognizable. Reporter James Harrison detailed dozens of boats “partially submerged”. The situation was so severe that Harrison said “Island Cove Marina looks like a hurricane just went through it” calling it “unreal”. WRCB is reporting the same, claiming “extreme damage”.

WRCB reports no deaths in Hamilton County. Trees are confirmed down on Hunter Road. In Bradley County, homes are reportedly damaged throughout Charleston.

NOH issued a news statement this afternoon warning of “scattered strong to severe storms early today will bring locally heavy rains in excess of one inch. Storms developing ahead of a strong cold front this evening and tonight…will bring more widespread moderate to heavy rains which could average 1 to 3 inches.” For images of the tornado damage, click HERE.
