Hana Hwang, Selena Gomez Visit Prompts Thank You from Children’s Hospital
LOS ANGELES (LALTE) – Hana Hwang was visited by Selena Gomez at Los Angeles Children’s Hospital in December following assistance by Ryan Seacrest. This weekend, Los Angeles Children’s Hospital issued a thank you, again, to Selena Gomez and her fans for their reaction to a recent video by Hana Hwang in January.
In a news statement last Friday, Los Angeles Children’s Hospital thanked Selena Gomez and her fans for their reaction to Hana’s recent video. “We have been getting a lot of response from Hana’s video to @selenagomez” said the Children’s Hospital. “Thank you all for sharing this amazing story”.
The video, a narrative by Hana, uploaded on January 12 has been seen by nearly ninety-thousand viewers. Hana’s family in the video caption issued a thank you to the hit singer, and also her mother. “To Selena’s mother, Mandy, thank you for raising such a remarkable daughter.” As to Selena, the Hana family told news “Selena, not matter what you go through in your life, if you have love and family, you’re already a superstar. Never forget that you have made a difference to us and to the world.”
Hana recorded her video narrative for YouTube in January following a December visit by Selena Gomez. Hana, a 13-year-old progeria patient, “wanted to share the following message of appreciation with the pop star and her family”. “Thank you for showing us your hearts” said the family.
Last winter, Sara Kim, Hana’s tutor, first nominated Hana for the KISSMAS Giving campaign on L.A.’s 102.7. But Ryan Seacrest personally reached out to help Hana, by contacting Selena Gomez directly and tell her about Hana’s story. Within days, Selena visited Hana bedside in Los Angeles last December, to “fulfill Hana’s lifelong dream”. For more about Hana’s story, click HERE.

I don’t understand why everyone thinks this is sad. Yes, it’s upsetting that such an innocent young girl has to live with the burden of this illness, nobody should have to go through anything like that, but she is still beautiful and happy! Try not to focus on the fact that she has an illness, look at the fact that she is enjoying her life to the best of her abilities, and that she has so many people around her to love and support her when she needs it! Hana, you are simply an amazing girl, and I admire your strength and perseverance so much.

Now she is in A better place and she is sooo beautiful in heaven now and she doesnt need any machines or anything.Shes with God now

Yes, I completely agree with that! Nobody deserves to be put in this situation. I just prefer looking at the happy side, rather than dwelling on the negative impacts illnesses like this have. Seeing that she fought her hardest, and stayed positive through it shines through to me so much more than the fact that she was born with progeria. A lot of the time patients aren’t looking for sympathy; sympathy can make them feel worse. What they need is support and optimism! That’s just my opinion though, I understand that people disagree with me, and that is totally fine.

i recently heard that hana unfortunately passed away and even though she’s no longer here i think she’s in a much better place she seems/seemed like such a darling and i wish the best for her family

Hana Hwang you are beautiful no matter who you are…you are very lucky that you met Selena Gomez…Hana sorry about your illness and i feel bad for you so you are in better place and you are flying with beautiful God…You can watch over your family, your best friends, your friend and Ryan& Selena Gomez…..they are all support you!

Some ppl have said, why cry, why be sad for her cuz she was happy… i am very sad she had this illness, but im more sad for the rest of us who have our health n whole lives ahead of us n do nothing with it. =’( thats why i cry.

Dear, Hanna I just wanted to let you know that you are such a beautiful girl. You make your family proud and happy all the time I do feel bad about your sickness but i just wanted to let you know that no matter what you go through keep a positive attitude. I really don’t know whether or not these rumors about you passing is true or not but if they are R.I.P. you will be missed very much if they are not true Keep Living Out Your Dreams !!!!!!

Hana, you are amazing…I look up to you. You are absolutely gorgeous and such a lovely human being. I wish I could of met you-it would of been a pleasure to meet such a brave, beautiful, amazing and generous girl like you! You are the most terrific, amazing, courageous and beautiful person i’ve ever known about. You’ve inspired me so much. Whenever I feel like giving up on something, I think of you and of how courageous you are. I am so happy that Selena Gomez visited you in the hospital, because if she didn’t, I would have done something about it. I believe in yo, so never give up!
