Adam Lambert Uses 30th Birthday for Charity Drive

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Adam Lambert is giving back, once again. Adam Lambert turns 30 years old today. And to mark the occasion, Lambert is asking fans worldwide to donate for a water charity drive.Adam Lambert’s charity work has previously brought the American Idol star national recognition.
In August last year, Lambert joined with the Trevor Project to promote comfort and happiness for our nation’s youth. “I believe that peace is exactly what the Trevor project promotes” Lambert said in a news statement at the time. “Peace of mind, peace amongst our youth, and peace at home.”
That same month, Lambert was honored by VH-1 for his charity work during its “Do Something Awards” telecast. Lambert was recognized along with Justin Bieber, Lady GaGa, Nick Jonas, Linkin Park and the Black Eyed Peas. And earlier this month, Adam recently put up for charity his Versace jacket that he wore at the US Weekly’s Hot Hollywood event in 2009, autographed.
When most celebrities celebrate their 30th birthday, they turn it into a tacky Las Vegas celebration with an appearance fee for their pockets. Sometimes, they even attempt to generate news for themselves with a bizarre $1.65 million birthday diamond encrusted cake.
But Lambert is not like most celebrities. Today, he is teaming up with the CharityWater organization. He is asking fans to celebrate their birthdays this year by donating to charity water to help change lives.
In a news statement today, Adam says “Last year for my ‘golden birthday’, you gave me the best birthday present I could have asked for — you donated $323,803 to bring clean water to over 16,000 people! It felt so amazing to have my fans, friends and family do something so inspiring for my birthday. I’ve been asked what I would like people to do this year for my 30th birthday. I’d like to invite you to join me and “give up” your birthday this year.”
He adds “Wait until you see how amazing it feels. Together, I bet we can raise over $1 million and bring thousands more people clean water.” For more, click HERE.
