BEVERLY HILLS (LALATE) – With the RHOBH cast for season three in question, who is leaving Real Housewives of Beverly Hills? There will a new cast for season three of RHOBH, with some members returning, and others not invited back. And while Bravo never confirms news of changes ahead of time, all the Housewives have indicated they want to return to the show. Bravo, however, doesn’t want them all back. Multiple news reports claim that Bravo, more than ever before, is launching a massive casting search to overhaul this cast.
Which of the cast members are most likely to return? Among them are Lisa Vanderpump and Adrienne Maloof. Kyle Richards is expected to also return, with Kyle dominating on-air time for season two. But the cast members most in trouble are Kim Richards (because of her inability to shoot scenes), Taylor Armstrong (because of alleged liabilities), and Camille Grammer.
But while multiple reports published this week claim that Kim Richards is not going to be asked back, that remains questionable. At issue is the ability to shoot a successful reality show, and the ability to deliver record ratings. Last week’s episode delivered the highest ratings ever in the series’ history. Despite how much fans may not like Kim, the ratings draw last week was Kim and Kyle’s storyline.
Kim and Kyle Richards are also managed by the same team that got them onto the show in the first place and would fight to keep them both on the show. While fans are split about wanting Kim to return, and producers might have anguished about Kim’s inability to tape episodes this season, her meltdowns have delivered ratings gold.
But no one wants someone having meltdowns on television season to season. If Kim Richards has really made a great recovery since rehab, then she would seem likely to return.
At issue, however, is liability. Multiple news reports this week, including one in the NY Daily News, claim that producers are concerned about liability. With Richards sober and successfully cleaned up from rehab, that concern doesn’t remain anymore. Not so, however, claims a Daily News source which says “the show is not healthy for Kim”. But if Kim is healthy, she is healthy for the show’s ratings.
Taylor Armstrong, however, was a massive liability this season. Camille Grammer, Adrienne Maloof, Kyle Richards, and were all fearful of Russell Armstrong’s legal threats during season two taping. With Russell dead, is the liability gone? Not so says the Daily News. MyMedicalRecords.com has filed a $1.5 million breach of contract suit against Taylor Armstrong, claims the NY Daily News. A source claims that producers, Bravo, and cast members now are worried about “becoming party to the litigation” from that as well.
By now, Housewives fans know that many of the news reports about cast changes are created by publicists. Last season, Camille was accused of feeding the fake stories that she was leaving the show to increase demand for her return.
But with most fans urging for Taylor to be cut from the cast, who is likely not to be invited back? The issues are ratings, opulence, and availability. Bravo has sent out a casting notice indicating that it want dynamic women for season three who live opulent lifestyles.
Who is not going to be invited back? LALATE anticipates Taylor Armstrong and Dana Wilkey will be not be invited back and will be replaced by Kathy Hilton as a full housewife with two more “friends of Housewives” added.
