Dorothee Burkhart Admits Harry Burkhart is Mentally Ill
LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Dorothee Burkhart admitted Harry Burkhart is mentally ill Tuesday. Dorothee Burkhart, owner of the website Hollywood Tantra Massage (hollywoodtantramassage.com), admitted to her U.S. magistrate court judge during a Tuesday deportation hearing that her son is mentally ill. The revelation is consistent with the clinical determination by a Vancouver doctor treating Harry Burkhart in 2010. Today, Dorothee Burkhart is due back in court. But new questions are surrounding, not just her massage website, but also how she and her son got into the U.S. in the first place.
The bizarre history of Dorothee Burkhart and Harry Burkhart dates back to Frankfurt Germany in 2007. That year, German authorities issued a bench warrant for Dorothee Burkhart’s arrest. Between 2007 and fall 2011, her movements are still unclear.
In 2010, she was in Vancouver with her son. A doctor treated her son and determined he was mentally ill. Sometime thereafter, the two were back in Germany. On or around October of last year, German authorities took Dorothee Burkhart into custody. But she reportedly crawled out of a hospital window and fled Europe, arriving in Los Angeles within days.
It remains unclear if Dorothee Burkhart arrived in the U.S. at the same time as her son. But Harry Burkhart in October was also in Germany. He is accused of burning down a residential house, then filing a fraudulent insurance claim. He too then fled Germany.

By November, the two were in the U.S. with a legal VISA. It remains unclear how they entered the U.S. But soon, she had set up a website to offer massage services, so she claims, to Hollywood men. By December, federal authorities brought her in for deportation proceedings.

Then, after those proceedings went poorly, her son became irate in the courtroom, had to be restrained, and was escorted out of the building. Within hours, Harry Burkhart allegedly began burning down Los Angeles structures.

On Thursday, Dorothee Burkhart appeared before her U.S. magistrate. She did not know her son had been charged for the arson fires. So she repeatedly demanded to be told where her son was.
The court refused to tell her. At one point, she began to shout at the judge much like her son had done in December. With a packed courtroom, it appeared everyone knew what had happened to Harry Burkhart except Dorothee. She is due back in court today.
