Tyron Perez Dead, Confirm Police – Death Remains Under Investigation

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Tyron Perez is dead, confirm Police to news. But Tyron Perez’s cause of death remains under investigation. Perez died of a single gunshot to the head, police tell news. But investigators are still trying to determine if Perez was the victim of a suicide or homicide death. Earlier today, LALATE news broke that Tyron Perez was found dead in an abandoned car. Police have since confirmed that news, but they would not confirm whether Perez (often incorrectly cited as “Tyrone Perez”) died of a suicide.
When news broke of Tyron Perez’s death, fans were shocked that this had marked the second death to strike StarStruck in recent years. In March 2006, Marky Cielo won the reality talent competition. Cielo went on to star in Asian Treasures, Boys Nxt Door, and Sine Novela: Kaputol ng Isang Awit. But following his appearance in the 2008 project LaLola, Cielo was found dead. Cielo passed on December 7, 2008.
Tyron Perez, in turn appeared on StarStruck in 2003. Perez reached the sixth week of the reality show competition until he was eliminated on December 12, 2003. The season would eventually be dominated by Mark Herras and Jennylyn Mercado.

Tyron Perez, however, found commercial success after the reality show ended. Perez took the role of Dwight in the 2006 movie Twilight Dancers. He appeared in Walang Tulugan with the Master Showman hosted by German Moreno, he appeared in the TV project Mula sa Puso. On December 3, Tyron appeared in an episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya, previously taped.
Representatives for Perez tell news that they had not seen Perez in recent weeks. Star Magic and Jerry Lopez-Sineneng, managers for Tyron Perez, issued a news statement today. “Our deepest condolences to the family of Tyron. Let’s pray for the eternal repose of his soul.” Tyron was reportedly last seen by his reps at the Star Magic Ball in early 2011.
Valenzuela City Police have since confirmed news of Tyron’s death, but Police would not confirm it was a suicide death. Tyron was found in the backseat of Toyota Altis. Initial news reports claimed the Altis was “abandoned”. Subsequent news reports have claimed that the Altis belonged to Tyron.

SPO2 Richard Bautista of the Valenzuela City Police investigations unit tells news that Tyron was found inside the passenger backseat. Tyron had suffered single gunshot to the his right temple. Police confirm the bullet was fired from a .22-calibre firearm at a close range.

Earlier today, Ahna Mejia, chief public information officer of Valenzuela City, said that Perez was found dead in an “abandoned” car near Que Grande in Barangay Ugong. Senior Superintendent Wilben Mayor has since told news that the car was near North Luzon Expressway. Mayor said the cause of death is pending an autopsy report.
