Lindsay Lohan Playboy Photos Outselling Pamela Anderson, Tara Reid Issues
LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – The Lindsay Lohan Playboy photos are outselling previous issues by Pamela Anderson and Tara Reid. Lindsay Lohan Playboy pics for her January 2012 issue hit newsstands last week. But Hugh Hefner is already praising the issue as a commercial success. Hefner’s comments, however, were qualified by other news reports to local sellers.
For Lindsay Lohan’s Playboy pics, Hugh Hefner has been the sole spokesperson. With the exception of a mere tweet and Facebook message by Lohan this last week, Lohan has made no news comment about the spread. That has left Hefner with the ball of promoting the spreads. Hefner has never confirmed to news if he paid a reported $1 million for the spread. But he tells news Sunday that the spread has become a commercial success.
“The Lindsay Lohan January-February Double Issue is breaking sales records,” Hefner said Sunday. Other news reports claimed that newsstands are sold out everywhere and are on backorder. CNN doubted the same. As reported by KTLA, it was hard to find a single newsstand that was sold out. “CNN calls to a dozen newsstands in Los Angeles, Chicago, New York and Atlanta Sunday found just one that is sold out of the issue, and that store expected more to arrive Monday.”
Lohan’s issue is reportedly expected to exceed sales figures for the January 2011 issue by Pamela Anderson and the January 2010 issue by Tara Reid. Anderson posed completely unclothed while Reid appeared only partially unclothed. “I’m in my 30s now. I feel like I’m at the best age in my life, mentally, spiritually, physically, of how I feel,” Tara Reid told WPIX Channel 11 News at the time “I’m proud of it.”

Reid’s issue sold well because of fascinating over her stomach. Reid suffered stomach scars following a botched 2004 liposuction procedure. Because of that procedure, Tara had said she would never choose to grace the pages of Playboy. Reid had said “I know there are problems with my stomach. There are bumps on it, it’s uneven, but it’s not that bad. My stomach scars are my bottle wounds.”

Tara explained her reason for the photo shoot. “I got it fixed and now I’m OK and I want people to know I’m OK,” she told New York’s WPIX.
“I’ve had it done for the last five or six years, but people only want to show the old pictures. It’s so unfair. That’s part of the reason why I did Playboy, to show people, ‘Right, look at me. This is how I look now.’”

Anderson, in turn, was a familiar face when she posed in January 2011. Anderson has appeared on more Playboy covers than any other model ever. Anderson has yet to comment about Lohan’s spread. But other former Playboy models have been highly critical, some telling news that Lohan’s spread is lowering the standard for the publication.

Lohan, in turn, has been quite about her own shoot. She said a mere one sentence about it this last week. “Playboy on stands now! I was so nervous! I hope people like it
