LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Justin Bieber’s Mariah Carey duet of All I Want For Christmas hit the net today. In Bieber’s All I Want For Christmas, he had to sing the same key as Carey, a difficult task for Bieber, his manager told news recently. The track is a welcomed update to the original Carey release. But some critics believe that Carey’s voice is inferior in the updated version compared to her original release; others believe Bieber doesn’t seem at ease vocally during the track. But because of the immense success of the original release, any update with Bieber is something that fans will enjoy.

Scooter Braun told news recently that the notes for Bieber were difficult because it was produced, not as a solo for Bieber (like the Michael Buble version), but as a duet, following Carey’s key.

How did the track get made? Bieber told MTV recently “But she’s on my label, so we reached out to some people, she got in contact with us, and Randy Jackson was actually at the studio with us, and I was like, ‘Yo, you think you can help get Mariah on the Christmas album?’ And he was like, ‘I’m actually going to see her in New York on Monday,’ and I was like ‘Yo, go do that!’ ”

Bieber also joins Busta Rhymes on “Little Drummer Boy”. During the track, Bieber evokes his alter ego Shawty Mane. The Bieber album will also feature Usher, Boyz II Men.

ST LOUIS (LALATE) – The Greenville, SC gunman, still unidentified, has prompted a massive lockdown of Greenville neighboring schools. Ten Greenville County schools were initially on lockdown today October 28, 2011. But now, some schools have begun to open.

In a news statement issued Friday morning, Greenville County officials tell parents that classes are canceled or on lockdown. “You may have heard about the police action taking place today in the Mauldin Road/Parkins Mill Area. As a result of this action, a number of our schools are on lockdown and some roads are barricaded.” Officials added “This action may delay or hinder regular school dismissal. Should dismissal be delayed at any school, it will be announced through local media.”

The shooting happened this morning at 10 am. Greenville Police Chief Terri Wilfong tells new that, during a routine traffic stop, an officer was shot at by a driver. The driver had been pulled over. But instead, he fired at the officer and ran into an apartment building. No injuries have been reported. The suspect is a male African American roughly thirty-five years old, sporting a ponytail.

Among the schools initially on lockdown were Christ Church Episcopal School, St. Joseph’s Catholic School, Sara Collins Elementary School, Washington Center, Sterling School, Greenville Technical College’s Barton Campus, Patrick Center, and Virginia College.

Greenville County also told news today “Bus riders who live in the barricaded area will not be delivered to their homes until law enforcement personnel have deemed it safe to do so. If, due to the barricade, you cannot arrive at school to pick up your children, they will be supervised until you are able to do so.

“As always, our number one priority is maintaining the safety and security of our students and employees. The developing circumstances of today’s manhunt and our focus on student and employee safety resulted in many parents hearing about today’s lockdowns from the news media. We apologize for any distress that may have caused you.”

BEVERLY HILLS (LALATE EXCLUSIVE) – Kevin Lee appeared as Lisa Vanderpump’s Wedding Planner for her daughter Pandora this season of RHOBH. Now Kevin Lee is getting his own show. “The Brides of Beverly Hills” will feature Kevin Lee and others preparing weddings much like Pandora’s. The series premiere is tonight.

This month, Lee debuted on Bravo as he planned Pandora’s night; but it almost never happened. As viewers learned, Lisa told Kevin that Pandora should be married in a simple Church wedding since Lisa is British. But Kevin wouldn’t have it, exclaiming that “this is Beverly Hills”. When Lisa budgeted roughly $100,000 for the wedding, Lee rolled his eyes, telling her the budget would be in excess of $1 million.

Kevin tells Lisa “We need a spectacular wedding .. this is Beverly Hills… It has to be very Beverly Hills.” Lisa urges Kevin that she wants a down-to-earth wedding, to which Kevin responds that there is nothing “down-to-earth” about Lisa’s mega-mansion. “This is not a shag house.”

Lisa says “He’s like the Asian version of Father of The Bride.” But as TLC viewers will learn tonight, Beverly Hills insiders believe that Kevin was the basis of the Martin Short character in Father of the Bride.

“We don’t have a budget.. the average wedding in Beverly Hills is a rough million dollars.” That prompts Lisa to respond “What is going to do for party favors, give them a bag of money to go home with?”

In a news statement to LALATE, TLC reports “Wondering who that intriguing party planner was that Lisa Vanderpump hired in Real Housewives of Beverly Hills? It was Kevin Lee, co-star of Brides of Beverly Hills, who has done weddings for Jen Aniston/Brad Pitt, Drew Barrymore and Anthony Hopkins. As for Renee Strauss, the star of the show, she’s sold dresses to Kelly Preston, Natalie Portman, Jessica Simpson and several other celebrities.” The premiere episode features Diamond Foxxx, a “film” actress, getting her dress.

ST LOUIS (LALATE) – An unusual Oklahoma earthquake today surprised residents before sunrise. Two Oklahoma City earthquakes struck today October 28, 2011 beginning after midnight. No reports of injuries have been detailed by local news.

The first Oklahoma City earthquake struck early Friday morning. At 1:24 AM PST, a 3.3 magnitude earthquake struck near Oklahoma City today, USGS reports to news. The quake was of nominal depth, local news reports, striking only three miles below the earth’s surface. As a result, the earthquake was felt over a wide region.

The first quake was centered nine miles east of Oklahoma City, USGS indicates to news. The quake was twenty miles north east of Norman, twenty-four miles south of Guthrie, and twenty-seven miles west of Shawnee.

Hours later, a second earthquake struck Oklahoma City. At 4:18 AM, a 3.5 magnitude quake struck at the same epicenter. This second quake was also three miles below the earth’s surface, USGS reports to news.

The quake was centered north of the Interstate 40, south of Interstate 44. The quake was west of Jones, west of McLoud, and south east of Edmond. The temblor was north of Nicoma Park and west of Harrah. No reports of damage have been detailed yet by local news.

CORAL GABLES (LALATE) – Paulina Rubio’s Me Gustas Tanto music video debuted today to fan and industry praise. The Paulina Rubio Me Gustas Tanto music video release was the result of bi-lingual marketing push by the Latin sensation that started last summer. Most recently, on October 13, Rubio debuted the first glimpses of the video.

In Me Gustas Tanto, Paulina Rubio embraces mainstream Latin pop but parlays it with a sound that is uniquely Rubio. Rubio, as compared to many of her contemporaries, has not lately produced as much music annually as some fans would demand. But in her latest endeavor, Pau’ hits a home run, but both embracing the sound that made her international sensational and embracing new musical challenges.

While not delivering a video narrative, the music video is expected to be massive sensation appropriate for U.S. dance floors. Ripe with visual elements keen for U.S. clubs, Me Gustas Tanto is a brilliantly produced track now supported with an excellent video.

The marketing push for the album started last summer. In August, Rubio first reported that her next single would be dance track. She also gave a release date, telling news “I want to be the first one to let you know my NEW single hits radio Sept 13th.”

At the time, she told news that her anticipation to release the track was overwhelming. “Ya terminamos el single (already finished the single). Estoy MUY emocionada de poder compartirlo pronto con todos (I am very excited to share the song with everyone soon).” On August 30, she debuted the track to international praise.

The same praise is being generated today. And yet, with nearly two thousand comments in just five hours, some fans are asking for upcoming U.S. concert tour dates from the Latin singer. “Cuando vas avenir a San Francisco Cali?” writes one fan moments ago.
