Sam Eshaghoff SAT Test Taker Arrested

CORAL GABLES (LALATE) – Sam Eshaghoff was arrested this week for allegedly being a professional SAT test taker; Sam Eshaghoff was allegedly hired by men, even a female, to take their SAT test for money and give them close to a perfect score of 2400. Eshaghoff, 19, is accused of even taking two tests on the same weekend, at different test centers.
Sam Eshaghoff, 19, was a college student when he allegedly began to take tests for six high school students, five of which for money. Four of the students got into college with those test scores; the other two were still in the admission process.
He is accused of charging upwards of $2500 per test and producing a perfect score of close to a 2400 score per student. How did he do it?
He allegedly used fake IDs and swapped in his picture. He allegedly then took tests in school districts where the students didn’t live so that test examiners wouldn’t recognize the name. He is accused of flying in for tests while being a college student and doing more than one test per weekend. He even took a test for a female. But her name was gender neutral so there was no way in the identification check for examiners to realize that she now appeared as a “he”.
How did investigators catch him? The essay exam, claims prosecutors. He allegedly was not able to alter his handwriting. So when investigators compared the six exams, the handwriting matched.
“Who are the victims?” said D.A. Kathleen Rice. “Their fellow students, who play by the rules.” Investigators believe there might be two other cases.
