LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – FB Pac, the new Facebook PAC, is being formed to promote economic innovation, the company confirmed to news today. Facebook confirmed FB Pac paperwork was filed today in advance of the upcoming elections.

Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg presented at F8 just last week. During his exit, he selected the song “All I Do Is Win”, the DJ Khaled single featuring Ludacris, Rick Ross, T-Pain & Snoop Dog. Today, Facebook confirmed that it will be lobbying for candidate so that they can win too.

“FB PAC will give our employees a way to make their voice heard in the political process by supporting candidates who share our goals of promoting the value of innovation to our economy while giving people the power to share and make the world more open and connected,” said Facebook in a news statement Monday.

Over the weekend, Herman Cain won the Florida GOP straw poll. Cain picked up 996 votes. Rick Perry earned only fifteen percent and Mitt Romney finishing in third with fourteen percent.

Facebook reportedly spent two hundred thousand dollars in lobbying two years ago; that number has since increased steadily each year.

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Kenny Britt has a torn ACL and MCL ending his season, officials have confirmed. Kenny Britt’s season is over after suffering the ACL and MCL injuries, Titans’ Mike Munchak confirms to news moments ago.

Britt’s MRI test did not go as he had hoped. The right knee needs season ending surgery, doctors revealed Monday. “We lost Kenny, and he’s got a lot of young receivers out there having to change positions so there’s a lot going on out there,” Munchak previously told news.

Britt went down during his third pass Sunday. This ends what had started as a good season for Britt. He was currently ranked fifth in the NFL. Britt was initially able to limp off the field. He was eventually carted off. The Titans went on to defeat the Broncos 17-14.

The Titans are currently tied in first place in the AFC South along with Houston. Munchak has yet to confirm who will replace Britt.

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – The Obama Los Angeles September 26, 2011 visit (map above) has begun road closures. But when Obama arrives in West Hollywood within a few hours, however, the biggest road closures will begin with the traffic jams. The above map represents the street closures that L.A. residents are being warned of today. And while traffic has yet to form as of noon today, City officials are warning residents to prepare their day appropriately for the drama that is about to erupt.

A quick perusal of Sigalert’s live Los Angeles Traffic report (click HERE) reveals all Freeways are currently open in West Los Angeles with little or no traffic. But while that might be the condition now at 12:30 PM PST, the situation will change later this afternoon.

Obama’s visit for September 26, 2011 brings him to West Hollywood. He will depart from the Miramar Marine Corps Base this afternoon before arriving in Los Angeles. The White House will not confirm to news if Obama will arrive in West Hollywood by helicopter. The assumption is that Obama will travel by jet from Miramar to Los Angeles and then by helicopter into West Hollywood.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is advising residents of Beverly Hills and West Hollywood that they will suffer the blunt of today’s traffic, compared to Brentwood residents earlier this year. “Local access will be restricted in some areas. Residents, businesses and visitors to West Hollywood are strongly encouraged to plan ahead to avoid any inconveniences” said the news statement today.

Street closures are already in place for San Vicente Boulevard between Santa Monica boulevard and Melrose. More streets will close this afternoon, namely Sunset Boulevard from Doheny Drive to Sweetzer Avenue; Santa Monica Boulevard from Doheny to La Cienega Boulevard; and La Cienega from Sunset to Rosewood Avenue.

The Sheriff’s Department is specific about the streets being closed but not about the specific time. However, L.A. City Councilmember Bill Rosendahl tells news that La Cienega is going to be shut down completely from 7:15 pm to 10 PM.

Obama is first going to the House of Blues on the Sunset Strip for a $250 per person fundraiser. Then he heads to Fig and Olive, a West Hollywood restaurant, for a $17,900 per person fundraiser. Both events benefit the Obama Victory Fund.

Residents are already preparing for the worse. “Stay Away from West LA around 5pm….Pres. Obama will be in town” writes one resident. Another wasn’t so happy, stating “Dear Obama, If you want my vote next year please stop making traffic jams. Thank you.” Below is another map (printable) of the road closures today.

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Typhoon Nesat aka Pedring has prompted Philippines school closures today. Typhoon Nesat’s projected path has Manila, Philippines in its projected path within the next twenty-four hours, reports local news.

The Philippines typhoon is one of three active typhoons around the world currently. But local news reports that Typhoon Nesat is one hundred fifty miles east of the country as of 11:30 AM PST. Typhoon Nesat is currently traveling at only ninety miles mph, however.

One hundred thousand local residents have been evacuated so far. Manila is expected to suffer far less than the twenty inches expected in northern Philippines reports news.

The Joint Typhoon Warning Center has issued a news alert today warning that Nesat indicates a “consolidating low level circulation center …with a ragged eye.” Neat is expected to “peak near ninety knots prior to making landfall … at which point the system will weaken rapidly due to land interaction.” However, JTW reports that when Nesat “reemerges over the South China Sea .. the system should re-intensity slowly”.

The highest level of warnings was issued so far for Catanduanes, Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte, Northern Quezon including Polillo Island, Aurora, Quirino and Isabela. Robert Sawi, weather branch chief of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), reports that the center of Manila is under a signal no. 2; change to that status remains “slim” reports Sawi.

ST LOUIS (LALATE) – Cody Grimm has an MCL injury, Tampa Bay officials confirm to news. But for Grimm it remains unknown if the MCL injury will end his season. In a news briefing this morning, Buccaneers coach Raheem Morris confirmed to news that Grimm’s season still remains in doubt.

The Buccaneers issued a news statement today confirming Grimm has injured his medial collateral ligament. “Cody Grimm definitely has an MCL injury but the extent of the injury otherwise is not yet known so it’s not certain that his season is over,” the news statement read.

On Monday, Buccaneers coach Raheem Morris told local news that it remains unknown the “extent of that” injury yet. He tells the Tampa Bay Times that Grimm’s injury may not be “for the year”. “We don’t know the extent of that yet. He’s definitely getting an MRI,” Morris told the newspaper.

He added “I know he’s got an MCL, some other stuff, so we’re checking that now. It may not be for the year. We’re not sure of that yet.” More testing is planned. Grimm missed one month last season after breaking his leg. Morris would not detail when further testing results will be available.
