LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Obama L.A. traffic jams will return today again. President Obama is in Los Angeles today Monday September 26, 2011 until Tuesday morning; traffic jams and road closures will cripple West Los Angles and West Hollywood this afternoon and evening. If you have anywhere to drive to today,  do it this morning; City officials are telling residents to prepare for massive street closures this afternoon. And while government and City officials are warning residents of traffic jams this afternoon, L.A. residents will soon learn if today’s Obama in LA visit is far worse than the previous visits this year.

In spring of this year, Obama stayed west of the405 Freeway predominately. His visits were to Brentwood, prompting traffic jams from the Beach through Westwood.

Today, however, the traffic jams could be far worse because Obama’s visit will be further into town. Moreover when Obama is in L.A. today, street closures of major boulevards will be in place.

San Vicente Boulevard from Santa Monica Boulevard to Melrose Avenue is already closed Monday morning. A series of streets in West Hollywood will be closed at 2 pm PST today, officials tell news. These are not minor streets but Sunset Boulevard, Santa Monica Boulevard, and La Cienega Boulevard.

The worse traffic will be late afternoon today, City officials tell residents. Obama is heading to the Sunset Strip and then down the street to La Cienega. He is going to the House of Blues around 5 pm. He is landing in L.A. around 4:40 pm. Afterward the House of Blues, Obama is heading to Fig and Olive in West Hollywood. The big question not disclosed to news is whether the President will arrive into West Hollywood by helicopter or not. It remains unclear if he will travel from perhaps the Federal Building in Westwood to West Hollywood by helicopter, or if he will prompt more traffic delays by traveling in a caravan from WLA to West Hollywood.
