Vesta Williams Found Dead, Cause of Death Unknown

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Singer Vesta Williams has been found death; cause of death remains unknown. Vesta Williams had a series of hit R&B and dance tracks starting in 1986 with Once Bitten, Twice Shy. One year later, her songs “Something About You” and “Don’t Blow a Good Thing” broke the top twenty in the U.S. and British charts. For each year continuing until 1993, Vesta Williams had a hit song. Among her biggest hits was the 1991 single “Special” which went to number two on the U.S. R&B charts. In total she delivered six Top 10 hits on the US Billboard R&B charts during her lifetime .
Vesta Williams was found dead in Los Angeles September 22 in a Hotel room. Friend Jackeé Harry told news today that she “…just received truly devastating news: R&B great, and my friend of many yrs, Vesta Williams (@vesta4u), has passed away. #RIPVesta”
Fans are in shock today. “Vesta Williams will be gone but not forgotten her song. ‘Congratulations’ will be around forever.” Another wrote on Twitter today “The R & B world lost another great artist Vesta Williams.”
Deborah Cox tells news “every time I heard your voice on “Congratulations” it would bring tears to my eyes.” Kimora Lee Simons wrote “what a tremendous talent and great soul. As long as I can breathe, you’ll always be the one for me”. Shanice added “my friend Vest died. I can’t believe this.” Sheryl Lee Ralph added “Vesta Williams was truly unsung.”
