Raven Symone Wins at 2011 NAACP Theatre Awards

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Raven Symone won big this week at the 2011 NAACP Theatre Awards. Raven Symone, 25, picked up the Spirit Awards for State of Georgia. Symone arrived at the awards wearing a stunned red off the shoulder dress.
The 2011 NAACP Theatre Awards bestowed the award on Symone for her energy, tenacity, innovation, commitment, talent, and spirit in their theater performances. The 21st annual award was passed out in Los Angeles.
Symone plays Georgia Chamberlin in the hit series. She also is next set to be heard as the voice of Iridessa in Tinker Bell and the Pixie Hollow Games and the video release of Tinker Bell and the Mysterious Winter Woods. The film release of Pixie Hollow Games will debut later this fall on the Disney Channel.
Symone years ago left the Cheetah Girls to start her solo singing career; in 2005 she became the youngest artist ever to be signed by MCA records. A year later she had fought for the role of Effie White in Dreamgirls; that part was eventually won by Jennifer Hudson. Today, Symone splits her time between Los Angele sand Atlanta.
