LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – The Dancing with the Stars 2011 cast announcement is moments away from its Bachelor Pad 2 revelation. And while Dancing with the Stars 2010 cast had an impressive lineup, ABC with the 2011 cast stretches the meaning of the word “star” a bit too far. In fact, the most appropriate word to describe many of the cast members is “former”. And while ABC has digressed from its casting method of 2008 and 2009 to some extent, this season they failed to really draw the caliber of cast members the caliber of a Kirstie Alley or Erin Andrews that drew something both entertaining, and surprising. Will expected fan favorites Hope Solo and Ricki Lake bring enough to the season to make it worth watching?

Kristin Cavalleri joins the cast. Fans will remember when she last filled in for the exited Lauren Conrad on the Hills. The show eventually tanked in the ratings and was canceled. At least this time, Cavalleri won’t have to fake a relationship with Brody Jenner for the ratings.

Ryan O’Neal will be joining the floor. He is one of two contestants that come from OWN programs, the other being Chaz Bono.

The popular pick will be the immensely talented Hope Solo, the U.S. women soccer team’s goalkeeper, and Ricki Lake, who impressed a generation with her former talk show. There is Chynna Phillips, JR Martinez (All My Children), and Nancy Grace.

But the interesting twist will be Elisabetta Canalis, the stunning model and former love interest of George Clooney. Rounding out the cast is David Arquette, Rob Kardashian and Ron Artest.

Where is the formerly indicted political figure in this cast? There is none. ABC opted against its previous format of casting of politicians this time around. But if Ron Artest’s name change is completed during the season, he will at least be representing World Peace.

Yes, because the twist is that Vienna makes it to the final episode but she  doesn’t make it to the final two teams. Who are the final two teams in Bachelor Pad 2’s finale? The answer is Michael Stagliano and Holly Durst, and Melissa Schreiber and Graham Bunn, reports Reality Steve.

The season premiere of Bachelor Pad 2 delivered an impressive 6.9 million viewers. The exit of Ames and Jackie became one of the biggest viral hits of ABC reality programming this year. Tonight, the drama continues, however. First, Ella take Kirk on a date. They hit it off and Kirk gets a rose, reports Reality Steve. Then Blake takes Holly on a date, and they hit it up. Holly gets a rose as well.

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Kim Kardashian’s music video has “leaked” online, or so we are to believe. Kim Kardashian’s music video for “Jam (Turn It Up)” surfaced online Monday, ironically one day after Kardashian made news appearing at the MTV VMAs 2011 telecast. While Kardashian’s song didn’t create the type of news reaction she had hoped for, Kardashian’s video, just after her return from her honeymoon, miraculously appeared online Monday in snippet form.

“It’s only normal for me to be nervous. I’m human, I never sang before” Kim told news earlier this year. When discussing the recording, Kim K said “This was definitely something I don’t do, so for me to step outside my comfort zone to do this … is like a really big deal.”

Kim added “this was just a fun new experience”. At the same time, Paris Hilton had told news that she was set to release a sophomore album to promote her own reality show. Hilton’s show has been canceled and no news of the album has yet been released.

Kardashian initially told news that St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital was to benefit by an unspecified portion from the song’s iTunes release.

While boxing fans have been critical of Floyd Mayweather’s inability to secure an opponent like Manny Pacquiao for his upcoming match, news that his opponent poses in underwear pictures may erode PPV sales for the upcoming fight. For years, Floyd “Money” Mayweather has asserted that he is the face of boxing. In fact, in recent weeks, he has defended “Money” Mayweather as a personality that he has created to inspire his demographic. But will Mayweather’s demographic be turned off by the latest pictures and advertisements for his opponent surfacing online?

Victor “Vicious” Ortiz appears on freshpair.com with an interesting caption. What is Ortiz doing on an underwear site? The website states “WBC Welterweight Champion of the World and boxing’s rising star Ortiz weighs in on his underwear picks this month” adding it’s “just in time to take down Floyd Mayweather Jr.” Additional photos were released online this week as well.

What role does perception of boxers play in PPV sales? Last year, Mark Taffet, HBO’s senior vice president for pay-per-view, told news that perception of boxers is critical to PPV sales. Taffet told news that key markets are U.S. urban markets. “One of the main reasons that Mayweather-De La Hoya did a million buys more than De La Hoya’s second-biggest fight ever was because of the buys that came out of the large urban centers of America,” Taffet.

24/7Mayweather-Mosley did well across young male demographics “specifically, younger males across all ethnic lines”. In May of that year, Mayweather said promotion “is about taking this sport to another level, and being an icon in the sport of boxing. I’m the face of boxing.” He added “I gave the fans what they came here to see, which was a toe-to-toe battle. That’s not my style, but I wanted to give them that kind of fight, and I knew I could do it.”

Roger Mayweather previously said of Floyd “is the most skilled fighter in the sport. He understands boxing.” He added “That’s what he’s been doing all his life.”

Despite the excitement of the Sugar Shane Mosley fight, Mayweather’s two most successful PPV fights were against Latin American fighters. He delivered 2.4 million buys against De La Hoys in December 2007 and 1.6 million buys against Juan Manuel Marquez.

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Joseph Hyungmin Son played Random Task in Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery in 1997 and appeared as Joe Son in UFC 4. But seven years before Austin Powers, the actor had assaulted a woman. The case went unsolved until just three years ago. Now the actor is facing life in prison.

In “Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery”, Son played a mixed martial arts fighter. But seven years earlier, he committed a gang attack against a female in Orange County on Christmas Eve. He was on probation three years ago when his officer required him to give a DNA sample. Later, that sample matched the suspect’s DNA from the 1990 attack.

Last Thursday, Son was convicted. He allegedly dragged his female into the back of a car on Christmas Eve and began to savagely beat her. He eventually released her unclothed in Compton with her eyes blindfolded with her pants. His sentencing is this September 19. He faces 15 years to life in prison.

Joseph Hyungmin Son appeared in UFC 4, losing to Keith Hackney. He also served as Kimo Leopoldo’s manger in UFC 3.
