Floyd Mayweather vs. Victor Ortiz Fight Prompts Oscar De La Hoya Revelations

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – The Floyd Mayweather vs. Victor Ortiz fight got yet another twist this week as Oscar De La Hoya admitted that his Golden Boy image was not exactly as it seemed in recent years. The Floyd Mayweather vs. Victor Ortiz has been the subject of peculiar revelations about the boxers in recent days. Now the revelation is about one of the promoters: Oscar De La Hoya.
Golden Boy Promotions has been pushing media attention for its fight Victor Ortiz in recent weeks. Ortiz, himself, has been called by news reports “Golden Boy Light”. But recently, Ortiz appeared in a series of peculiar pictures for an underwear company. Now De La Hoya himself is telling news that he has committed adultery, been involved in substance abuse, been treated through rehab, and had multiple mistresses. And yet, through these revelations, the fight’s projected winner, Floyd Mayweather, has remained silent.
On September 17, Mayweather vs. Ortiz will head to PPV. If you didn’t already know that they are fighting that weekend, Oscar De La Hoya is dominating news today because of his shocking revelations. Yet, many of his revelations concern conduct several years ago.
His comments were delivered to Spanish language program, “Aquí y Ahora”, in a Univisión interview with news reporter Teresa Rodríguez. De La Hoya says he and his wife separated for a short time because of his infidelity. “We are obviously not talking a Tiger Woods here, but I was unfaithful.”
De La Hoya tells news that he was using substance and alcohol in recent years. But “the last two years, last two and a half years, and I depended more [on] the alcohol”. He added “It took me to a place where I felt safe, it took me to a place where I felt as if nobody can say anything to me, it took me to a place where I just can reach out and grab my mom.”
