Saints vs Raiders: Oakland Tries to End Losing Streak

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – When the Saints vs Raiders take to the field tonight, Oakland understands that this is only the pre-season; but still, the Raiders have yet to win a game. In fact, in their two previous appearances, Oakland’s offense has been lackluster; the defense hasn’t been much better.
The Saints vs Raiders game airs tonight on NBC (start time 8 pm). But for Oakland, they are hoping to end a loosing streak that started with a 24-18 loss against the Cardinals and continued with a stunning 17-3 loss against the 49ers. The Saints, however, have also struggled. They fell against Houston last week after a win against San Francisco in their pre-season opener.
Against the 49ers, the Raiders passing was flawed after Boller delivered one interception in only eleven attempts. Edwards had six plays and one interception himself. Receiving wasn’t better, with Heyward-Bey and Hagan barely producing forty yards in two receptions. Campbell fumbled, Shaughnessy and McClain had interceptions.
The Saints were poor against the Texans. They had virtually no rushing game, producing less than fifty percent of the rushing yards delivered by Houston. Daniel and Brees had roughly one hundred yards passing, with Daniel delivering one touchdown and one interception.
“It was just far too many inconsistencies for our liking,” Sean Payton told news this week. “I thought we weren’t as ready maybe as I thought we were the last week we played. I thought we were sluggish and I thought they looked sharp.”
