LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Caribbean Airlines Flight 523 has crashed at a Guyana Airport this weekend. Caribbean Airlines Flight 523 or BW523 confirms no fatalities and all passengers safe after it was involved in  a crash Saturday; the Airline has yet to use any word beyond “incident” to describe the trouble Saturday. The plane was landing at Cheddi Jaggan an International Airport in Guyana when the aircraft crashed, and broke into two.

Upon arrival, Caribbean Airlines deployed full emergency services both on board and at the airport. “The airline’s primary concern at this time is for those on board the aircraft and their families” said a news statement today.

All one hundred fifty-seven passengers and six crew members are safe. Caribbean Airlines confirms not fatalities. But it could not detail if there were any injuries. “Passengers are still receiving medical attention and we are working closely with the local medical services available in Guyana” it told news today.

Earlier today, the airlines confirmed that the trouble erupted as the Boeing 737-800 was traveling en route from Port of Spain, Trinidad to Georgetown, Guyana. “There were no fatalities. Caribbean Airlines immediately activated its emergency response programme and is in direct contact with the relevant authorities. “

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Adam Sandler is not dead; reports of an Adam Sandler death today July 29, 2011 are completely fabricated. But a quick perusal of one website, “Global Associated News”, reveals that it has posted, not just a work of fiction about Sandler’s fake death today, but also about other celebrities, consistently in recent weeks.

“Actor Adam Sandler Dies in Snowboard Accident” read the false article on the Global Associated News website today. The article, apparently, had some believers. The Sandler fake death story got fifteen thousand Facebook likes by 3 pm PST today. “Actor Adam Sandler is reported to have died shortly after a snowboard accident earlier today July 29, 2011″ claimed the article which states “this story is developing”.

The story isn’t developing. It’s fabricated. The story claims that Sandler died of a snowboarding accident at the Zermatt ski resort in Switzerland.

How ironic. Global Associated News reported that the Jim Carey, Christian Slater, and Eddie Murphy also died in snowboarding accidents this year (which they didn’t) all at the Zermatt ski resort. Of the four actors, Sandler’s fake death has been the most popular with Murphy’s death drawing the least interest with five thousand Facebook shares.

A cache of the Global Associated News website reveals that the date stamp at the beginning of each article dynamically changes itself to today’s date, even if the story was published weeks ago.

But not all actors die of fake deaths in Zermatt on Global Associated News. The website listed Tom Hanks falling to his death in New Zealand. His  fate was on the famed Kauri Cliffs. And yes, if you are wondering, Global Associated News wrote that Brad Pitt, Natalie Portman, and George Clooney have all suffered the same fate of fiction on the Kauri Cliffs.

ST LOUIS (LALATE) – Sandy McMillin, a blue bikini patron of Walmart, is angry over her treatment. Sandy McMillin (video below) went with sister Karla Vogt to Walmart last Sunday. But during her visit, Sandy McMillin wore a turquoise bikini (string top) and a pair of shorts. Now McMillin is speaking out, discussing the matter with local news … in  the same bikini outfit.

McMillin enjoys shopping at Walmart. But last Sunday, it was 90 degrees outside. So McMillin headed to her local Walmart to make a purchase. Her shopping list was the hot weather was sour cream, chips, and coffee creamer.

But from there, it is unclear what exactly happened. McMillin says that, within moments, an employee walked over to her and told her to put some clothes on. The employee according to McMillin said the turquoise bikini was a violation of health code.

Sandy didn’t like that. She reportedly told local news “If you don’t like the way someone looks, don’t look at them.” But the turquoise bikini trouble got worse, according to Sandy. She says Walmart escorted her and her sister out of the store.

Walmart disputes the bikini battle. They tell news that McMillin was never escorted out. She claims that other people in the store complained about McMillin’s clothing selection and that Sandy got angry at those patrons.

It remains unclear if Sandy ever got her sour cream, chips, and coffee creamer for the 90 degree weather. But she claims she did get insulted.

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Skeletal remains of Joseph W. Schexnider found in May were confirmed to news Friday. Joseph W. Schexnider’s skeletal remains were discovered in the brick chimney at the Abbeville National Bank in Louisiana in May. Schexnider had been missing for twenty-seven years.

A lab assigned to the case took several weeks of DNA testing to identify the skeleton. The chimney had been part of a section of the bank under renovation when the remains were found.

FACES, the lab at Louisiana State University, was assigned the task. Schexnider was 22 years old when he failed to show up for a hearing in January 1984. He had been charged with possession of a stolen vehicle. Law enforcement showed up at his house after a bench warrant was issued. His mother said Schexnider, had fled.

Investigators are unsure what prompted Schexnider to go into the chimney. They believed he might have planned a burglary. Ironically, the chimney didn’t connect to the bank but to a storage facility. They determined no foul play was involved. They included he died within a few days of entering the chimney from dehydration and starvation.

Schexnider’s family gave some items to investigators to get a DNA sample. Dental records were not available.

CORAL GABLES (LALATE) – A manhole fire on Manhattan’s east size has prompted closures today. The manhole fire is located on East 59th Street between 1st and 2nd, reports local news moments ago. The fire is still not under control (video below).

Shortly after 2:40 PM today a manhole in a construction zone caught fire. Witnesses reported little bursts of flames began exploding from the manhole. Electrical contractors were working in the block at the time. They started to hear popping.

Officials quickly evacuated the manholes before the situation worsens. No one was in the manholes when the fire erupted into its power fires.

Nearly one dozen buildings in the blocks around East 59 (between 1st and 2nd) are currently under evacuation. The building are roughly four to five story structures. Officials are concerned about a gas main in the same vicinity.
