Casey Anthony Plea Deal Offered?

Posted: June 25th, 2011 in Casey Anthony by LALATE

Casey Anthony Plea Deal Offered

CORAL GABLES (LALATE) – Was a Casey Anthony plea deal discussed in Court chambers Saturday? The question of a Casey Anthony plea deal for an aggravated manslaughter is dominating debates outside the Court and on telecast news coverage today. No plea deal has been confirmed by either side. But on Saturday, the Court cancelled an elongated session for a “legal issue” not disclosed. Was it for a guilty plea?

Since Thursday, LALATE has asserted the State’s case for first degree murder is in trouble. The State’s assertion for first degree murder requires proof of premeditation and aggravated child abuse. The Casey Anthony family has been vehemently against any assertion that Casey committed aggravated child abuse of Caylee, or that Casey premeditation a homicide against her daughter. Since Thursday, the Anthony family presented a series of different testimonies in which they supported their assertions.

But while the State’s case for first degree murder is jeopardy, the defense’s assertion for acquittal is also in trouble. The defense has failed to show that Casey Anthony, as the sole parent of Casey, did not engage in aggravated manslaughter against her daughter. Last week, her family told news said that Casey is “not innocent”.

But “not innocent” has since been clarified. The Anthony attorney says the family believes Casey was solely involved in Caylee’s death but didn’t act with premeditation, and did not commit first degree murder of her daughter. The family asserts both the State’s case – premeditation first degree murder – and the defense’s case – accidental drowning and family abuse – are wrong.

So what caused the abrupt change today, canceling court session for Saturday? One report claims Casey was crying, another asserts she was just sneezing. One reports claims she is angry at Cheney Mason, another claims she is angry about possible exclusion of upcoming persons on the Casey Anthony defense witness list.

But could there be a plea deal in the work? By all accounts, there probably isn’t, but should be. The State’s determination for first degree murder has been misguided, and the defense’s assertion for acquittal is unfounded.

With homicide only “inferred” by Casey Anthony’s behavior by the State, and accidental drowning only “suggested” by the ladder placement at the Anthony pool, both sides may not be understanding the weakness and strengths of their cases at this point. A plea for aggravated manslaughter and sentencing term should be offered. If it’s not, Anthony at this point is most likely to only get that conviction, or possibly even less, unless a major change comes from the State on rebuttal.

Teresa Giudice Wine Business Fabullini Bubbles Up

Posted: June 25th, 2011 in Teresa Giudice by LALATE

Teresa Giudice Wine Business Fabullini Bubbles Up

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Teresa Giudice wine business is next to uncork for the New Jersey Housewife. Teresa Giudice wines could soon hit supermarket shelves alongside Ramona Singer’s Pinot Grigio and Bethany Frankel’s Skinny Girl Margarita. It’s enough Teresa Giudice’s brother Joe Gorga partook in too many tequila shots in the season finale of NJ Housewives this season. But that’s not stopping the elder Gorga to Fabullini.

Fabullini? Teresa Giudice tells New York news that she is hoping to launch a wine line. Her anticipated name, she tells the New York Daily News, is Fabullini. Giudice doesn’t tell news what type of meals the Fabullini wine would be best be served. But her hopes is that the wine will be so popular you won’t be able to keep it on the table (assuming, the table isn’t flipping
already).

Teresa Giudice’s wine would now mark the third Bravo Housewife to move from reality star to beverage producer. Singer’s own distribution is growing. “The vines ranged in age from 15-20 years old in soil of calcareous origin that is rich in limestone. The grapes were hand-picked and immediately crushed upon reception at the cellar” says her website. “The next process is the fermentation of the wine in stainless steel tanks which took 15 days.”

For Frankel, an alleged price tag (never confirmed by the seller nor purchaser) of $120 million was reported after Frankel sold Skinnygirl to Fortune Brands Inc.. The spirit priced at $14 or $15 in standard 750-milliliter bottles before its March 2011 sale had gotten into Costco; it was in virtually every state. “As an entrepreneur focused on practical solutions for everyday, I know Beam Global and Skinnygirl share that same vision” Frankel said after news of her cocktail brand’s sale last spring.

So does Teresa have what it takes to produce wines? Or are beverage lines becoming saturated by Housewives? Last season on OC, Lynne Curtin and Gretchen Rossi accused each other of being in more product lines than fans can even keep track. Is Grappa by Gretchen next in the pipeline? With Housewives, anything is possible.

USA Vs. Mexico, 2011 Gold Cup (Copa Oro) Final – Chicharito Anticipates Complications

USA Vs. Mexico, 2011 Gold Cup Copa Oro Final Chicharito Anticipates Complications

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – When the USA Vs. Mexico, 2011 Gold Cup (Copa Oro) soccer Final kicks off en vivo today, Chicharito (Javier Hernandez) anticipates complications and struggles for both teams. To advance to today’s USA Vs. Mexico, 2011 Gold Cup Final, Mexico had to overcome a truly complicated opponent in Honduras this week, Chicharito tells news. He expects today’s soccer game will be no different.

Chicharito and soccer fans worldwide anticipate today’s stunning soccer match (start time, channels below) will be won by the opponent that can best adapt to complications. Chicharito tells news this week that, to beat Honduras, Mexico really had to adapt midgame to an opponent switch a strong defense and vacillating positioning. “Yes, and thank God for that, it was a complicated match and we had to struggle to get through, but we made it,” Hernandez told news.

If there is one player who can pull off that ability to adapt today, it’s Hernandez. His opponents call him one of the most explosive players in the game today. His critics call him not the most peculiarly fascinating player to watch. But what both sides of the debate say about Chicharito is that he is patient and calculating, and that he rarely, if ever, misses goals on striking opportunities.

Chicharito tells news that, as a striker that has consistently scored game to game, he doesn’t think about the calculative moves until game time. His one of two team goals against Honduras came late in the match this last week. At only 23 years old, the 70 kg striker is a powerhouse on the field. The Guadalajara, Jalisco native, however, never puts himself before his team. His focus is on winning. For Manchester United fans last season, he said the sport doesn’t have individual stars, rather the team is the star and the focus is winning games.

Tonight’s game can be watched en vivo at the Pasadena Rose Bowl, or on television on Fox Soccer Cable Channel (English language) or Univision (En Español). Start time is 6 pm PST, 9 pm EST. Stay HERE for live scores.

Casey Anthony Trial – Cindy Anthony Testimony Left with Jurors until Monday

Casey Anthony Trial - Cindy Anthony Testimony Left with Jurors until Monday

CORAL GABLES (LALATE) – The Casey Anthony trial left Cindy Anthony testimony on chloroform and the swimming pool with jurors’ minds as they headed into an elongated break Saturday. The Casey Anthony trial is in recess, the Court told jurors Saturday to their surprise. Originally the Court was to hear testimony today, perhaps even for longer hours to make up for lost time last week. But in an unexplained abrupt change, the Court sent jurors home Saturday with Cindy Anthony and Lee Anthony’s testimony left as the dominant testimonies of Friday and Thursday.

Cindy Anthony took to the stand again Friday multiple times to follow up her stunning chloroform search admissions on Thursday.
On Friday, Cindy Anthony told jurors stunning testimony about Caylee and the swimming pool. Cindy Anthony said that Caylee would go into the swimming pool three to five times per week by the summer of 2008. Cindy said Caylee was always anxious to go into the pool, was able to open the sliding glass door, and was able to get into the pool unassisted by herself, but still had an adult alongside her. Cindy said that she and her family told Caylee of the importance to only go into the pool with an adult present, and with her life vest on. But Cindy’s testimony clearly established that Caylee could have gotten into the pool by herself and hence possibly drowned. Yesterday, Cindy also showed how Casey was a loving parent. Video shown to depict Caylee’s size was in turn powerful to show the relationship of daughter and mother between Caylee and Casey.

Lee Anthony also told the jurors that there were family secrets, that he wasn’t told Casey was pregnant, that he wasn’t invited the baby shower. Between Cindy and Lee, the jury realized that this family has secrets, secrets the prosecution stays away from and secrets the defense tries to illicit. The same jury a week earlier learned Lee was tested for Caylee’s paternity.

On Thursday, Cindy took ownership of all critical online searches that would have established premeditation against Casey. First Cindy said that she was worried her Yorkie was acting up and feared it had contracted chloroform from bamboo roots. Cindy said she looked up chloroform.

Then, she later said she looked up acetone and peroxide. She claimed she had gotten an email at work about the worries of hand sanitizer around children. “That scare came out in March, and during the same timeframe I was looking up the issues about the dogs,” Cindy Anthony said. “I was looking up ingredients in the hand sanitizer, the alcohol, and that prompted me to look up other things we had in the house.”

USA vs. Mexico 2011 – Gold Cup Finals Battles Donovan against Chicharito

USA vs. Mexico 2011 - Gold Cup Finals Battles Donovan against Chicharito

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – As USA vs. Mexico 2011 kicks off en vivo Saturday, the Gold Cup Finals will feature an epic battle between Landon Donovan and Chicharito (Javier Hernandez). USA vs. Mexico 2011, played locally in the Rose Bowl, will bring together two stars that already ignite the soccer fans of Los Angeles. While Chicharito may play professionally for British team Manchester United, his jersey is virtually the only soccer shirt lining nearly every street of Los Angeles’ downtown shops near Santee Alley. Landon Donovan, on the other, captivated a Los Angeles audience during his stunning FIFA World Cup 2010 games. This Saturday, the two soccer stars ignite the soccer world of Southern California with a face off that is one for the record books.

When Donovan came to the Los Angeles Galaxy, he was reportedly initially paid $2,127,777.78. annually. In moths that followed Donovan was reportedly upset after the Galaxy signed David Beckham at an enormous salary only to have the British sensation benched with injuries his initial season.

While Donovan fans thought he was unpaid, the same story could be told for Chicharito in 2011. Javier Hernandez was gotten for “cheap”, admitted Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson to news in March of this year. Ferguson even told news that “we’ve stolen him”.

Like Donovan, Hernandez was recruited to new soils, but eventually gotten below market. Ferguson detailed that a Manchester United’s staffer went to Mexico and spent nearly a month there watching Chicharito, before luring him to England. Manchester execs had dispatched Jim Lawlor to Mexico, LALATE reported earlier this year. “The reports were getting better and better so Jim spent a month in Mexico watching him in different games.” After multiple reported attempts, Lawlor eventually lured Javier to England for contract talks.

But weeks after Ferguson admitted that Hernandez was signed for cheap, Javier Hernandez was given a five year deal with a significant weekly salary level increase. After being paid one of the lowest salaries on Manchester but being one of its best stars, Hernandez got a new deal.

Southern California’s communities will merge together in front of TV sets this weekend to watch EN VIVO the USA vs. Mexico 2011 Gold Cup Finals match, while others will make the path to the Rose Bowl in Pasadena to watch the match Saturday live at 6 pm.  After both teams advanced to the finals earlier this week, tickets were already jumping to as high as one thousand dollars online. Still, others, like the merchants of Santee Alley in Downtown Los Angeles, may close up shops early, the same shops that sell Hernandez’s jersey, corner to corner, in Downtown, to see a match that doesn’t happen often.

But while the talent is unprecedented, the history and rivalry is between Mexico and USA is historic. The last twenty years, USA has earned thirteen wins and nine losses, Mexico has lost thirteen times and had nine wins.

Yet, Clint Dempsey describes best what fans should expect. He says that the match will be the hardest, and most exciting, match of this Gold Cup to win. Mexico’s Rafa Marquez agrees, calling it a showdown of the best two teams, before one of the biggest audiences ever, this year. Stay HERE for live scoring this Saturday.

Kwame Kilpatrick to be Released In July

Kwame Kilpatrick to be Released In July

ST LOUIS (LALATE) – Kwame Kilpatrick will be released promptly, parole board voted today. Kwame Kilpatrick, the former Detroit mayor tied to a Christine Beatty texts scandal in 2008, will be released this July, the Board voted Friday.

Kwame Kilpatrick’s first troubles started with Christine Betty’s text messages released in 2008. The Detroit Free Press published excerpts of the scandal text messages between then Chief of Staff Christine Beatty and the then Detroit mayor. Kilpatrick got charged for perjury, obstruction of justice and misconduct in office stemming from his relationship with Christine Betty and for firing a police official. He then served time for violating his bond.

Kilpatrick later agreed to an obstruction of justice plea. Finally in May 2010 he was sentenced to five years for probation violations.

But his legal troubles are not over. In 2012, he will face federal corruption charges. In December last year Kwame Kilpatrick, Bobby Ferguson, Bernard Kilpatrick were indicted on various federal charges. Kilpatrick was among the defendants in a 38-count criminal RICO indictment which accuses him of using campaign funds for “witness tampering and obstruction of justice.”
