LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – A shooting near Knox Elementary School has injured one of its teacher. LAPD officials say the shooting injury happened on campus but from random gunfire in the neighboring community. Knox Elementary School has yet to confirm the teacher’s identity.

Local news is reporting that the teacher was female. She had finished an on-campus training with other teachers at the time. There were no students on the Knox Elementary campus when the gunfire erupted.

Witnesses tell news that a nearby dispute erupted between two residents. Gunfire followed. At least one random bullet hit the teacher in the shoulder. Officials say the teacher will survive.

While the cause of the gunfire was a gang dispute, no arrests have been made. LAPD informed news of the shooting today, but said it happened Monday at 3 pm PST.

CORAL GABLES (LALATE) – Ginette Matacia Lucas aka Ginette Lucas detailed her Caylee Anthony discovery, through psychic efforts, on Nancy Grace tonight. Ginette Matacia Lucas’ work on the Caylee Anthony case was revealed to news first back in January 2009.  But tonight, Lucas revisited how she used remote dosing to allegedly tell investigators where Caylee Anthony’s remains were.

“What I do, because I’m a female [...is] you start with your landmark” she told news tonight. Ginette Matacia Lucas said her landmark was the Anthony family house. “The house is the landmark” she told Nancy Grace this evening. Grace asked what paranormal, or psychic, techniques, Lucas used to learn of the location of Caylee’s remains.

“I used a pendulum… I got a teddy bear” she added. Lucas said she got into bed with the teddy bear and had a “dream incubation”. Grace asked Lucas what that meant.”You want to see the item that you are looking for [in the dream]” Lucas detailed to news.

In 2009, she told news that Dominic Casey was interested in her services. “Eventually one day … I called Dominic right away… I have your fast and the final” she said. “I told him to go over to the area where an abandoned house is.”

She said she informed Dominic to go to the Casey Anthony house, make a right, go to the end of the street and “go to where the abandoned house is.”

Grace asked Ginette Matacia Lucas extensively if she had ever seen the location of Caylee’s remains herself. Lucas said “no”. She told Grace that she made the revelation over the phone, never in person.

“Is it true that you had a teddy bear that belonged to Caylee Anthony?” Grace asked. “Yes.” Grace added “Did you use it?” Lucas replied “I touched it…. I didn’t get much…. I went to bed. Had a dream about the location.”

She said that, while sleeping with Caylee’s teddy bear, she had a dream where Caylee’s remains were located. The next day, she told Dominic where he should look for Caylee.

She jumped out of the bed at 3 am in the morning and quickly called Dominic. She told him “I got it, I want you to check it out right away.” In her dream, Ginette Matacia Lucas claims she learned that Caylee was left in two garbage bags.

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Krystal Holloway aka River Cruz (photos below) claims she was George Anthony’s mistress, that George Anthony had an affair with her after Caylee Anthony’s death. George Anthony said today that he did not have a Krystal Holloway affair. The defense called George Anthony to the stand this morning in the Casey Anthony trial. The defense is expected to call Krystal Holloway who is also in the court house today.

Krystal Holloway aka River Cruz has claimed that she was George Anthony’s mistress, the George Anthony told her that Caylee died accidentally, and that George Anthony turned to her for an affair and comforting. All the pieces of the Krystal Holloway story were put before the jury today as expected.

The defense as predicted by LALATE would call George Anthony first, have him deny the Krystal Holloway affair, and then call Krystal to the stand to refute his testimony.

Krystal Holloway’s interaction with Anthony was denied in part this morning. As to the affair, George Anthony said it didn’t happen. He said that Krystal was volunteering to find Caylee. He said that Krystal Holloway told him that she had health issues. He said that since Holloway was helping his family, he comforted her about her health issues. He said his wife, Cindy Anthony, did the same.

But George Anthony admitted that his comforting continued, routinely, at Krystal Holloway’s home. George said that nothing happened at the house. He said that his wife knew that he was at Krystal’s house.

“She said she a brain tumor” said Anthony told. He added “she was giving herself to help the search of my daughter”. He felt obligated to visit her home to comfort her as well. “I visited her during the daytime, never at night” he remarked.

Jose Baez asked him “when you were visiting her, were you supposed to be at work? … You were going to comfort her about her brain tumor?” George Anthony replied “She said she was having medical issues, brain issues. She told my wife that also.”

Baez jumped back. “But your wife did not go to her house!” Anthony responded “My wife knew I went to her residence.”

The dramatic moment happened when Jose Baez asked George Anthony if he told Krystal that Caylee’s death was “was an accident that snowballed out of control.” Anthony was not responsive “I never found my granddaughter.” Then he replied “That conversation was never said. I never confided in any volunteers… I was handling everything on my own with my wife and my son.”

Baez then asked Anthony to repeat his denial. But Baez asked a leading question assuming facts not into evidence. “So when you were romancing Krystal Holloway, you never told her that Caylee Anthony’s death was an accident that snowballed out of control?” The State objected. After a sidebar, the court allowed Baez to ask a yes or no answer, if the “snowball remark” was made. Anthony gave an elongated pause, and said “no.”

Baez then asked Anthony if he ever sent her a text message that he needed her in his life. “Yes I did. Yes I sent many text messages.” Did you leave her any other letters?” Anthony admitted to the texts, the letters, and the visit to Holloway’s home.

CORAL GABLES (LALATE) – The Roy Kronk testimony about Caylee Anthony’s skull remains (photos below) will dominate the Casey Anthony trial today. The Roy Kronk testimony will follow Joe Jordan. Jordan is currently on the stand explaining his search efforts for Texas Equusearch. The defense is setting up a clear path of argument that Caylee Anthony’s remains were tampered with. But will the defense convince the jury?

Joe Jordan was the first defense witness called in the Casey Anthony trial this morning. He volunteered to search for Caylee Anthony for a company called Texas Equusearch. During his testimony, the defense was able to get into evidence a series of aerial photos. The photos depicted the region that Texas Equusearch searched for Caylee’s remains.

Joe Jordan has already told the jury that he believes the remains of Caylee Anthony were moved. But will Jose Baez attempt to do with Roy Kronk?

First, Baez is expected to ask him about his 911 calls. Roy Kronk made not one but three 911 phone calls in three days in August 2008. In one call he claims he found a vinyl bag. He told the dispatcher he thought something was in that bag. Four months passed and Roy Kronk was back on Suburban Drive in December 2008 looking for Caylee’s remains. But why?

Second, Baez is expected to evoke testimony that Kronk allegedly had Caylee Anthony’s remains and moved them. It’s a larger-than-life argument for the defense. But will it be believable?

Third, Baez is expected to focus on the more logical issue of whether Kronk tampered with the remains. Kronk is critical for two issues in this case: the duct tape and the plastic garbage bags. Multiple defense experts assert that Caylee’s duct tape was added after her death. The State argues the tape was used to kill Caylee by suffocation.

Tampering with the remains is critical because of Dr. G’s testimony. Dr. Jan Garavaglia has said that she determined Caylee Anthony’s manner of death was homicide because of three factors – duct tape, Casey Anthony’s behavior, and the plastic bags.

As to the tape, Dr. G told the jury that she has never had a case were a child accidentally dies with tape on her face. As to the behavior, Dr G. said a parent has a duty, and a natural reaction, to report their own loved one missing; if they don’t, it suggests wrongdoing by the parent. And as to the bags, Dr. G said that Caylee was “tossed in a field to rots in bags” suggesting murder. She added that the person who placed Caylee’s remains in the forest was trying to hide the body. Moreover “putting Caylee in a bag is indication for it to be hidden.”

Kronk showed up at the courtroom at 8:30 am today. He was instructed by the defense that he should be ready to be called sometime this morning.

CORAL GABLES (LALATE) – A Casey Anthony mistrial was sought by Ann Finnel Monday. Reports of a Casey Anthony motion for mistrial, and a possible plea deal, dominated Monday’s news. As of
9:30 am this morning, the following breaking development has been confirmed.

First, as reported on Saturday here, a plea deal offer has not been confirmed. There is no verification that a plea deal caused the court’s early recess on Saturday. Second, on Monday defense attorney Ann Finnel did in fact seek a motion for mistrial. What is the basis?

Local news confirms that Finnel has filed a motion of mistrial based upon the 1991 murder case of Paul E. Evans. On June 22, a Miami court ruled that the 1991 murder conviction and the resulting state Capital Sentencing Statute violated a Supreme Court ruling and the Sixth Amendment.

The issue at stake in the Evans case was the “enhanced” sentencing under Florida law in a death penalty case. In Evans, the Florida court revisited the Supreme Court case of Ring vs. Arizona.

Who is Paul E. Evans? He was convicted of killing a man for a stereo and other times. The jury’s alleged findings of aggravating factors came into play.

Finnel on Monday filed a motion for mistrial. Finnel specializes in cases involving the death penalties. Finnel’s motion asks for a new jury. “The motion asked that a new jury be seated in the case that is not death penalty qualified” reports local news.
