CORAL GABLES (LALATE) – Michael Dugan was Caylee Anthony’s father, claims mother Donna Maclean. If Michael Dugan was Caylee Anthony’s dad, it would end years of suggestions, denials, and confusion as to the question “what happened to Caylee Anthony’s father?”

Michael Dugan and Casey Anthony did date before, Donna Maclean tells Nancy Grace in an exclusive interview. “In an exclusive interview on tonight’s episode of Nancy Grace on HLN, Grace speaks to Donna Maclean, a woman who believes her late son, Michael Dugan, is the biological father of Caylee Anthony” HLN indicates in a news statement to LALATE today.

Casey Anthony’s family has often given different statements about what happened to Caylee’s father. But generally the family has asserted that the father died in a car crash in 2007 and never knew that he had fathered a child with Casey.

Donna Maclean will tell news tonight that her son died in a car crash in 2007, that he dated Casey Anthony at the time that she could have become pregnant, and that baby pictures of Michael Dugan and Caylee Anthony show a shocking resemblance.

Donna says when trial coverage of Casey Anthony began, she started to pay more attention to baby pictures of Caylee. It’s those baby pictures that immediately tipped her off. When she saw Caylee pictured as a child, she saw an enormous resemblance to her son as an infant. “I started seeing pictures of Caylee that reminded me of my family.”

She began investigation. Suddenly she found details that lined up. “Then after that, I decided to look up who the father was, and so when I did it said that he died in a car accident in 2007. And even at that, I just thought that was a bit bizarre.”

How did Casey keep the secret allegedly from Michael? Casey has previously claimed the father moved away. “About the time that the baby could have been conceived my son was 21, living in Tennessee and working for a moving company that took him all over the United States” says Donna.

Investigative reporter Diane Dimond further searched evidence that Michael could be the father: “[Donna] does not remember during this telephone conversation where [Michael] mentioned a Casey, a George, a Cindy, a father who was a cop” says HLN.
