LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Playboy’s Crystal Harris (photos below) and Hugh Hefner have cancelled their wedding. Crystal Harris’ Playboy dream wedding was set to happen in just days. But today, the couple confirmed news of their split at the eleventh hour, and cancellation of their upcoming nuptials. No statement has been given to news detailing what went wrong.
LALATE first profiled Harris shortly after the exit of Holly Madison, Bridget Marquardt and Kendra Wilkinson. Following the departure of Hef’s “Girls Next Door”, the Playboy founder was reported to have three girlfriends, twins Karissa and Kristina Shannon and Harris. But in 2009, Harris was delegated the duty of “voice of the Playboy Mansion”, not the Shannon Twins. In the years that followed, Harris and Hef got closer.
Hefner was previously married to Mildred Williams and divorced in 1959. In 2009, he finalized his divorced from wife Playmate Kimberley Conrad. That same year, her sons, Marston and Cooper Hefner, were detailed in news. Marston Hefner said of women at the time “I’m not going to have multiple girlfriends — not at the same time. I can’t imagine that.” In contrast, Cooper Hefner said “I can imagine doing that. I don’t think it’s an odd thing to do. You date around to try to find a connection with some girl.”
Hef told news last year “When I gave Crystal the ring, she burst into tears.” He added “This is the happiest Christmas weekend in memory…I got what I was hoping for Christmas…Crystal’s love. Yes, the ring I gave Crystal is an engagement ring. I didn’t mean to make a mystery out of it. A very merry Christmas to all.”
After the couple started dating in 2009, Hef roughly a year later confirmed this theory about marriage and his future with Harris. Hef said that he is a one woman man during marriage despite all the beautiful Playboy playmates. “I was married for eight years and was faithful to that marriage throughout the entire eight years” he told news at the time. “I think if you make a commitment, you keep the commitment.” By 2010, he was telling news that Harris was “a keeper”, in his words.
