LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Huma Abedin (photos below) remains unfazed by the Anthony Weiner latest photo scandal. Huma Abedin began dating Weiner, 45, in 2008. The couple got engaged in the summer of 2009. Abedin had been working with Hilary Clinton since 1996. But despite the continued changes in the Anthony Weiner twitter photos scandal, Abedin is still standing by her husband.
In 2010, Bill Clinton said of Huma: “I have one daughter. But if I had a second daughter, it would Huma.” Abedin, 34, moved over to the State Department when Clinton became Secretary of State. A report Monday showed Abedin today at the State Department, business as usual, dressed in a black suit. But local news reports that she was not smiling.
Since the photo scandal erupted, Anthony Weiner’s wife has remained away from news. Insiders say that Abedin, traditionally not front and center, has remained out of the media’s glare. The New York Post reports that Abedin’s schedule at the State Department has remained unchanged since the scandal erupted.
In 2010, Abedin was named a young political broker in TIME magazine’s ‘40 Under 40’ issue; she also appeared in Vogue pictures in 2007.
Weiner has denied any wrongdoing. He does admit, however, that the pressure on Abedin has been strong. “She’s seen an awful lot,” Weiner said last week. “But I won’t mind telling you that even for someone that went through the Clinton years, this has been a befuddling experience.”
A friend of Abedin tells news “She’s confident and comfortable in her marriage.”
