LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – John Edwards’ indictment on Rielle Hunter funds is expected and imminent, reports news today. John Edwards’ funds to mistress Rielle Hunter have prompted a swift move by the Justice Department. Edwards is reportedly aware that the United States Department of Justice will seek indictment for funds given to Rielle Hunter, reports ABC. Edwards, in turn, is expected to plea bargain the case. Edwards has been the subject of investigations for over a year as to alleged violations of campaign laws.

In February, a grand jury investigation focused on the alleged campaign violations by Edwards. The investigation has focused on whether  Edwards knew about the money given to Rielle Hunter and whether the money was deemed a gift for Rielle Hunter or as rather part of the campaign.

Prosecutors have looked at Rielle Hunter’s company, Midline Groove Productions, which did videotape work for Edwards in 2006 during campaign stops in Iowa and New Hampshire. Hunter was paid $250,000 reportedly from three organizations: One America Committee, the Alliance For A New America, and the Center for Promise and Opportunity.

Thereafter, Andrew Young was alleged paid $30,000 to act the part of Hunter’s baby daddy. Edwards has never told news why he continued to misrepresent his relationship, and paternity, to news from 2008 to 2010.

He had said “It was wrong for me ever to deny she was my daughter and hopefully one day, when she understands, she will forgive me. To all those I have disappointed and hurt, these words will never be enough, but I am truly sorry.”

If an indictment is sought, the core legal issue reportedly will focus on whether Edwards’ Presidential campaign funds were used, not for his campaign, but to hide then mistress Hunter. The funds were substantial, claim investigators. Reportedly Hunter was put up in a Santa Barbara mansion near even Oprah Winfrey. Hunter was allegedly given a brand new BMW, air travel and other alleged gifts. Her rental residence reportedly cost upwards of $20,000 a month.

Edwards from 2008 to 2010 misrepresented to news his affair with Hunter. By summer 2008, Edwards admitted to the affair, but did not admit to being Hunter’s baby daddy. “Two years ago I made a very serious mistake which fed a self-focus, an egotism, a narcissism that leads you to believe that you can do whatever you want” he said in a news statement at the time. In January 2010, nearly three years after the scandal erupted,  Edwards would admit to fathering a child with Hunter.

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Mike Brown will be the Los Angeles Lakers new head coach at a price tag of $18 million, claims news reports. Mike Brown Lakers contract won’t be short term but could span upwards of four years. ESPN reports that Brown has been offered a three year contract with a Lakers option for a fourth. Brown’s salary, claims news, will be upwards of $4.5 million annually. The LA Times reports that is Brown is let go after three season, he will get a portion of the final fourth year’s salary.

Most reports claim the Mike Brown could be confirmed to news as the Lakers new coach as early as today. Laker heads, however, had kept former Houston Rockets coach Rick Adelman as a backup.

The Times claims the 41 year old Brown was pushed aggressively by Jim Buss because of his “defense-minded style” in coaching. Owner Jerry Buss has confirmed to new that a coaching decision is imminent. General Manager Mitch Kupchak has suggested the decision could be this week.

In 2009 season, Brown brought the Cavs a 61-21 record. He also brought the team to the NBA Finals two years earlier.

Unconfirmed reports claim that Kobe Bryant, Derek Fisher and other players had requested Brian Shaw to become the team’s next head coach. Last night, Buss told Sirius XM radio that the team “won’t continue exclusively with the triangle” offense of Phil Jackson.

ST LOUIS (LALATE) – Kansas City, Missouri tornadoes have been spotted today moving through three counties. Kansas City remains on tornado watch after news radar and eyewitnesses spotted tornado movements through Johnson, Jackson and Cass counties. As of midday Wednesday, multiple funnel clouds are moving through the region as news advisory have been issued by the National Weather Service.

Warnings issued for Clay, Clinton, Jackson and Ray counties remain in effect until 12:45 pm CDT. But moments ago, the NWS updated news of a tornado warning for downtown Kansas City.

Shortly after 12:08 PM CDT, the NWS’s Doppler radar spotted a thunderstorm moving through the area “capable of producing a tornado”. That weather movement, says the NWS news statement, was spotted near Independence, moving north at thirty-five mph.

Travelers are being advised by news to be on alert. Drivers on I-70, I-35 and I-435 are being warned of possible weather changes midday.

Earlier, a Johnson and Jackson counties went on alert after funnel clouds were spotted in the region shortly after 11:30 am. The Kansas City Star reports that local city officials have opened its Emergency Operation Center in the Northeast area.

Just last night, Oklahoma City and other sections of Oklahoma was struck by tornadoes, causing at least four deaths and multiple injuries. Last week, the Joplin tornado shifted headed to Oklahoma to Wisconsin continuing its path of destruction.

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Nancy Kerrigan’s brother Mark Kerrigan was today found not guilty of manslaughter in his father’s death. Mark Kerrigan was found guilty of a lesser offense of assault and battery. Nancy Kerrigan spoke to news reporters today after a jury rendered its verdict.

In January 2010, Mark Kerrigan was arrested following the death of his father. As reported on LALATE at the time, Mark Kerrigan was originally charged and arraigned only on a assault and battery charge. Later, prosecutors added an involuntary manslaughter charge that carried a sentence guideline of up to twenty years in prison.

“I observed blood on the kitchen floor where Daniel Kerrigan had been treated by several people” claimed the police report. It added “There were three pictures that apparently knocked off the wall from a struggle. There was a photo on the wall crooked and a broken piece of phone on the ground.”

Today, jurors in the Woburn Superior Court case, after two days of deliberation, ruled that Kerrigan was not guilty as the involuntary manslaughter charge, but guilty as to the assault and battery charge.

The Kerrigan family claim the father died because of clogged coronary arteries. At the time of the attack, Mark was 45, father Daniel was 70.

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – The revelation of Mildred Patricia Baena as Arnold Schwarzenegger’s mistress has prompted Maria Shriver’s search for other alleged Schwarzenegger mistresses. How many mistresses did Arnold Schwarzenegger have? While the actor confessed to his Mildred Patricia Baena (photos below) affair reportedly just recently, Laura Wasser, Shriver’s attorney, is allegedly not convinced Arnold’s cheating ended with one woman. So Wasser, a famed Los Angeles divorce attorney, has reportedly hired a private investigator to learn if Arnold cheated on Maria, and on Baena, with another person(s).

While Wasser has yet to confirm news of her investigation, the same subject has been investigated by news as early as 2005. This month, Gigi Goyette, the subject of a 2005 news report, resurfaced. The child actor reportedly has claimed to have had an affair with the actor during his marriage to Shriver.

But beyond the two alleged women, are there more Arnold Schwarzenegger mistresses, and a second love child? First, as to love children, Jane Seymour, the former Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman, reportedly told CNN NEWS that she “heard about two more [out of wedlock kids] somebody else knows about. I even met someone who knows him well.” Seymour didn’t clarify the source of her information.

As to alleged additional women, Gigi Goyette, according to FOX NEWS said that “There were so many other women. About 13 have come out of the woodwork.” Goyette allegedly has also told news that a friend of hers has previously confessed to an alleged affair with the actor as well.

On May 8, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver announced their divorce. Nine days later, Arnold Schwarzenegger confessed to a love child with a member of his staff. Since then, Schwarzenegger has not spoken to news. Mildred Patricia Baena aka Patty Baena or Patty Pena has additionally refused to comment about the matter. Her former husbands have also remained quiet through the matter.

But on May 24, a Shriver source told Radar that Maria Shriver will file for divorce from the 63 year old actor in the coming days. The divorce will end the couple’s twenty-five year marriage.

Reports claim that the couple married with a prenuptial agreement. But because of the duration of their marriage, a Divorce Court, news reports claim, could likely split the couple’s empire, valued between $400-800 million.

“It’s not a matter of if Maria will file for divorce, but when,” says the source to Radar. Shriver’s son with Schwarzenegger, born days apart from the Schwarzenegger-Baena love child, reportedly played alongside the Baena son for years, never being told by his father that the boy was his step-brother.
