Troup and Longview Tornado Puts Texas on Alert

CORAL GABLES (LALATE) – A tornado moving through Troup and Longview is putting Texas east of Dallas on alert tonight. The tornado in Troup spotted within the half hour prompted alerts sounding across Longview, Texas moments ago. Northeast of Troup, Longview residents are being advised by local news of the tornado  moving at a northeasterly progression, speed yet not confirmed. The news comes hours after an alert was issued from the NWS in Fort Worth.

Roughly one hour ago, the NWS informed residents and news of a tornado warning across the north central section of the state. The warning, in effect until 4:15 pm CDT, has yet to be updated to news.

But moments ago, locals confirmed a tornado spotting near Troup and alerts being issued in Longview. Also, the NWS is advising that a “severe thunderstorm with a history of producing tornadoes” was spotting west of Rio Vista. It’s path, says the NWS news alert, is easterly at 25 mph.

There is a second concern, however. The NWS is advising of a second tornado possibly two miles south of Glen Nemo tonight as well. As a result, the NWS is advising residents of Keene, Covington, Alvarado, Grandview, Itasca, and Venus that the tornado will be passing through their communities late this afternoon into early evening. Additionally there is a news alert for “I-35W between mile markers five and twenty-seven” says the NWS.

Lindsay Lohan Coroner's Janitor Service Confirmed

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Lindsay Lohan is becoming a coroner’s janitor. Lindsay Lohan will be a janitor for the L.A. Coroner’s office. The one hundred twenty hour community service is being described as a “custodian at a morgue” by Los Angeles officials to news Monday.

“She’ll be doing basic janitorial work,” an official at the L.A. County Department of Coroner’s office tells People Magazine Monday. “She won’t be handling any dead bodies, but she’ll certainly see them.”

Lohan is appealing her sentencing last Friday which encompasses one hundred twenty days in jail and nearly five hundred hours of community service. The matter stems from violation of her 2007 probation for drunk driving. On Friday, Lohan was released on bail following after being sentence to a 120-day jail term.

Assistant Chief Ed Winter tells news that Lohan will be cleaning up and sweeping up in the Coroner’s office for her duties. Lohan has yet to comment about the matter to news.

Darron Gibson Twitter Departure Follows Wayne Rooney Success

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Darron Gibson’s Twitter departure Monday followed Wayne Rooney’s recent success with the social network site. Darron Gibson has yet to tell news why he abruptly cancelled his Twitter account two hours after signing up. But the Manchester United midfielder was the recipient of countless hateful remarks in those initial two hours. By late Monday, fans and fellow players are reportedly attempting to get the Man United star to rejoin Twitter.

Gibson had joined following the recent success online of teammates Rio Ferdinand, Wayne Rooney and Michael Owen. Wayne Rooney joined on Saturday. By Monday Rooney was at nearly two hundred thousand followers. Ferdinand, in contrast, is approaching one million followers.

Rooney has been trying to reconnect with fans. In October 2010, Rooney was the subject of bizarre contract disputes that impacted his relationship with fans. “I am sure the fans over the last week have felt let down by what they have read and seen” he told fans in October after resigning with Man.

“But my position was from concern over the future. The fans have been brilliant with me since I arrived and it’s up to me through my performances to win them over again.”

Among the hateful remarks Gibson received were “nothing would make me happier than if we sold you this summer.”
