Bowling Green, Missouri Tornado Heads into Illinois

ST LOUIS (LALATE) – A tornado in Bowling Green, Missouri is moving north east tonight into Illinois. The Missouri tornado has crossed the Mississippi River tonight, entering Illinois, and is heading for Clarksville and Pleasant Hill as of 4:30 PM CT.
Roughly thirty minutes ago, a tornado touched down in Bowling Green, Missouri. Local news has yet to report any injuries.
Since then, the tornado has headed north east, passing Louisiana, south of Quincy. Current reports put it approaching Pleasant Hill, west of Springfield. The activity is heading between Interstate 72 and 55, reports local news.
At 4:31 pm CT, the National Weather Service issued an updated news advisory. Their offices out of St Louis indicate a Tornado Warning has been added for Northern Calhoun County in Southwest Illinois and Eastern Pike County in Northeast Missouri. The Warning is until 5:15 PM.

The NWS tells news it issued the warning after its service’s “doppler radar was tracking confirmed tornado nearly Clarksville or six miles southwest of Louisiana.” NWS (HERE) added that “doppler radar showed this tornado moving eats at 30 mph” with locations “impacted” including Clarksville, Belleview and Kampsville.
Local news is reporting that Clarksville, MO remains in the path of the tornado within the next half hour.
