LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – A tornado touched down in Winneconne, Appleton, Neenah, and Menasha tonight. Shortly after 8 pm CDT, a tornado was spotted by local weather news’ dopper radar. Radar captured the tornado passing through Winnebago and Outagamie Counties in Wisconsin shortly after 8 pm local time.
Now moments ago, local news and national news were advising residents to take cover.
The Weather Channel is advising locals to take cover immediately in Neenah, Menasha, and Appleton. Moreover, a local source tells the channel “Widespread debris including highway signs down”. Baseball sized hall is also heading into the region for the next fifteen minutes reports the Channel as well.
Elsewhere across the county, Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad gave emergency status to Mapleton, Iowa Saturday night after as much as sixty percent of the town was damaged during a horrific tornado. Tonight’s tornado warnings are reportedly spread across multiple states including Michigan, Missouri, and Wisconsin.
