SAN DIEGO (LALATE) – A University of San Diego student is was shot today en route to campus. The unidentified University of San Diego female student suffered a non fatal shooting en route to her studies Tuesday morning.
Investigators have yet to rule where and when the shooting happened. But local news reports this morning indicate that the female drove onto campus and told a security guard she felt chest pain. After she was taken to a local hospital, attending physicians realized she had been shot in her right rib cage.
Details of her current condition remain unknown.
Local news reports that the female student was alert, but in pain, when she reported the injury to the security guard. Investigators have yet to rule where she was shot; initial efforts are focusing on Highway 163, near Balboa Avenue and north of mission Valley.
The female is 21 and a resident of Escondido. School officials have yet to comment on the matter.
