LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Rebecca Coriam, 24, the Disney Wonder cruise ship employee (photo above), remains missing Sunday. Rebecca Coriam’s family has few clues from Disney Wonder Cruise ship investigators. Her mother Ann Coriam and cousin Trish Davies tells local news that Rebecca Coriam made a telephone call on board before she went missing.

The Disney Wonder was on a seven day tour of the western section of Mexico. On Tuesday, Rebecca Coriam, a native of Chester, England, didn’t show up to work. But Disney Wonder officials tell
Coriam’s family that she made a phone call on board shortly before her disappearance.

Who did Rebecca Coriam call, and what was the subject of the conversation? Coriam’s family claims Disney Wonder, a Bahamas- based company, knows the subject of the conversation but is not divulging it.

Christi Erwin Donnan, a spokeswoman for Disney, issued the following statement to news this weekend. “We have been doing everything possible to find Rebecca Coriam”. Donnan added “Rebecca’s disappearance has been difficult for everyone at Disney Cruise Line. We’ve been in close contact with the Coriam family, and we’re assisting them in any way we can.”

On Sunday, the ship returned to Los Angeles. Bahamas police are leading the investigation.

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – A tsunami alert issued after today’s Japan earthquake has been canceled. The tsunami alert was issued following today’s Japan earthquake, initially reported as a 6.5 magnitude and thereafter downgraded to 6.1. Today’s quake was in the same area as the deadly quake on March 11, off the coast of Honshu.

After no tsunami was generated, the Japan Meteorological Agency informed local residents to remain attentive in the case of pending changes. The initial alert had called for water levels to rise at least 1.6 feet.

Despite dozens of aftershocks daily registering 5.0 to 6.0 in range, today’s 6.1 earthquake, along with Friday’s 6.4 magnitude quake, was one of the largest to hit the region in recent days.

Officials for neighboring countries have also canceled their respective tsunami alerts.

Today’s quake was located roughly sixty-seven miles east of Sendai, ninety-six miles east of Yamagata, and one hundred miles east of Fukushima. The quake, registering a nominal depth of ten miles below the earth’s surface, was roughly two hundred miles from Tokyo.

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Synagro CEO Bill Massa is in a mess on tonight’s Undercover Boss. Bill Massa heads into a 2.2 million gallon tank of sludge to clean a facility as CBS’s Sunday Undercover Boss. Massa has to clean the sludge, separate waters from solids at centrifuge, and cleanup a lagoon as well.

While previous Undercover Bosses have gotten into a mess as their identifies were almost revealed, tonight Massa has to clean the mess, literally. Massa heads Synagro which “provides a system of solutions for civic and commercial organizations that manages byproducts to create new, environmentally compelling options” says the company in a news statement. Synagro reduces the effects of byproducts on environment by converting them into renewable energy and reusable goods.

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – An earthquake (terremoto) in Chiapas, Mexico today could be felt in nearby Guatemala. Today’s temblor struck in Tapachula, Chiapas, Mexico but was in significant proximity to Guatemala where it felt by residents .

The 5.7 earthquake struck shortly before 6:30 am local time today. Centered thirty miles south of Chiapas, the earthquake had a relative depth of twenty-eight miles below the earth’s surface. But news reports claim the off-shore earthquake could be felt sixty miles to the west in Guatemala. Among the cities in close proximity were Quetzaltenango, sixty miles west, and Huehuetenango, eighty-two miles south west.

The most common area for Mexican earthquake activity is in the north near the U.S. Boarder. But today’s earthquake prompted concerns, for its location on the shores west of Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador.

No reports of injuries have been given. The quake was centered off the coast of Ciudad Hidalgo, Pajapita, and Champenico.

NEW YORK (LALATE) – DJ Megatron (106 & Park) is dead at 32, murdered Sunday. DJ Megatron born Corey McGriff died Sunday at 2 am after being shot dead near his home. Justin Kirkland, known as J. Smoove, confirmed DJ Megatron’s death in a statement to news today. “He probably had one of the best personalities around, super-positive, happy all the time,” said Kirkland.

DJ Megatron was walking to a local convenience store near his Staten Island home when he was approached by an unknown assailant. A single fatal gunshot was fired.

Police have yet to confirm if DJ Megatron’s murder was a random or targeted killing. BET and its parent Viacom have yet to comment about DJ Megatron’s murder. Police confirm the fatal gunshot was to the chest.

DJ Megatron was a hip-hop DJ for multiple east coast radio stations, also under the names Mega or Mega McGriff, before joining 106 & Park. On the popular cable program, DJ Megatron hosted the “What’s Good”.

DJ Megatron is survived by three children. Funeral arrangements have not been announced.
