LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Early American Idol results tonight have sent Naima Adedapo and Thia Megia to the bottom three. As Idol delivered results tonight, bad news came early for Thia Megia and Naima Adedapo. Naima remained one of two contestants leading predictions for tonight’s March 31, 2011 elimination.
As of 8:30 PM EST, Naima Adedapo was announced to news as the first contestant sent to the bottom three. Last night’s reviews from the judges certainly suggested Naima was in trouble coming into tonight’s results show.
Naima Adedapo on Wednesday night delivered I’m Still Standing. Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler were not impressed. Lopez remarked “Some songs are not meant to be flipped.” Randy Jackson politely said “It kinda came off kinda corny.” Shortly thereafter, news, fans, and bloggers predicted her elimination tonight. But will they be correct?
In other early results tonight from Idol, Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina advanced. Both Scotty and Lauren impressed the judges Wednesday evening. Jacob Lusk also advanced. After Lusk, good news came to Haley Reinhart and Pia Toscano. Both advanced. Finally, moments ago, Thia Megia, who news predicted would get eliminated tonight, was sent to the bottom 3 as well.
Thia Megia’s comments were good, but not great, during her Wednesday night performance. Steven Tyler said “You sang a great Elton John song well” while Jennifer Lopez said “That was beautiful. It was a beautiful moment for you.” Randy Jackson however disagreed, stating Thia had “pitch issues” and only played it “very safe.”
So who gets eliminated tonight? Final results are twenty minutes away. UPDATE: Paul McDonald also sent to the bottom 3, but in the end, Naima Adedapo and Thia Megia are eliminated.
