American Idol Results Tonight Sends Naima Adedapo, Thia Daniel to Bottom

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Early American Idol results tonight have sent Naima Adedapo and Thia Megia to the bottom three. As Idol delivered results tonight, bad news came early for Thia Megia and Naima Adedapo. Naima remained one of two contestants leading predictions for tonight’s March 31, 2011 elimination.

As of 8:30 PM EST, Naima Adedapo was announced to news as the first contestant sent to the bottom three. Last night’s reviews from the judges certainly suggested Naima was in trouble coming into tonight’s results show.

Naima Adedapo on Wednesday night delivered I’m Still Standing. Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler were not impressed. Lopez remarked “Some songs are not meant to be flipped.” Randy Jackson politely said “It kinda came off kinda corny.” Shortly thereafter, news, fans, and bloggers predicted her elimination tonight. But will they be correct?

In other early results tonight from Idol, Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina advanced. Both Scotty and Lauren impressed the judges Wednesday evening. Jacob Lusk also advanced. After Lusk, good news came to Haley Reinhart and Pia Toscano. Both advanced. Finally, moments ago, Thia Megia, who news predicted would get eliminated tonight, was sent to the bottom 3 as well.

Thia Megia’s comments were good, but not great, during her Wednesday night performance. Steven Tyler said “You sang a great Elton John song well” while Jennifer Lopez said “That was beautiful. It was a beautiful moment for you.” Randy Jackson however disagreed, stating Thia had “pitch issues” and only played it “very safe.”

So who gets eliminated tonight? Final results are twenty minutes away.  UPDATE: Paul McDonald also sent to the bottom 3, but in the end, Naima Adedapo and Thia Megia are eliminated.

Obama-Mask Robber Arrested in Austria

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Vienna’s nicknamed “Obama Mask Robber” has been arrested. Often called the “Obama Robber” by Austrian news, the tall male has allegedly committed nearly a dozen bank robberies in Austria in the last three years. In virtually all of his robberies, he was wearing the same mask of President Obama.

Today, the Obama-robber tried yet another bank robbery. But this time, when he struck a local Voecklabruck bank, police were able to catch him as he fled the scene by car.

British news have reported that the Obama-robber may have gotten his idea from the 1991 film Point Break. In it, Keanu Reeves’ character engages in bank robberies wearing masks of former U.S. presidents.

Police spokesman Markus Mitlohner confirmed the arrest today, adding the mask was found as well. Click HERE for his picture.

Florida Tornado Watch Causes Orlando, Tampa Travel Delays

CORAL GABLES (LALATE) – Today’s Florida Tornado Watch continues until 8 pm tonight after Lakeland Linder Regional Airport and Tampa area residents were hit hard Thursday. Adrienne Martin August Busch Lawsuit Moved from St Louis

ST LOUIS (LALATE) – Adrienne Martin (photos below) was found dead inside the home of boyfriend August Busch IV in December. Now a wrongful death lawsuit has been filed against Busch by Dr Kevin Martin on behalf of Adrienne’s heir, son Blake Alexander Martin, 8.

Both sides have agreed to move the St. Louis case to Cape Girardeau.

Martin was found dead on December 19 in Busch’s mansion at 2032 South Lindbergh. The 911 call was made by a Busch staffer 42 minutes after she was found dead. Frontenac Police Department later had to defend its failure to release news of the death to the news media until roughly five days later.

Martin was married in 2002, divorced in February of 2009. Busch exited Anheuser-Busch as its CEO in 2008 following the company’s sale to InBev for $52 billion. He divorced one year later.

The official news statement from the Medical Examiner in February read as follows “Saint Louis County’s Office of the Medical Examiner has completed its investigation into the death of Adrienne Martin and has determined the cause of death to be “Oxycodone Intoxication,” and the manner of death to be “Accident.” That information, along with the complete report, has been forwarded to the appropriate law enforcement agencies investigating this event. “

Bronx Zoo Cobra Found, Next Stop Letterman?

Bronx Zoo Cobra Found, Next Stop Letterman

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – The Bronx Zoo Cobra has been found. The Bronx Zoo Cobra was found at 9 am today. Bronx Zoo officials in a news conference Thursday confirmed the cobra had never left Zoo grounds. Rather she had been in her Reptile House all long.

Despite a week of terror, tweets, and merchandise opportunities, the female adult cobra was in perfect health, said zoo director Jim Breheny today. Breheny says the unnamed cobra appeared to be “in really good condition”. But she will soon undergo tests.

Breheny would not indicate what the Bronx Zoo cobra ate during the time. But residents had been warned any bite from the cobra would kill a human in less than 30 seconds.

The highly venomous, but highly popular, snake had spawn fake twitter accounts, merchandise lines, and countless brand endorsements. But is hosting Saturday Night Live and an appearance on Letterman next? Online, efforts have been launched to get the Cobra on “Saturday Night Live” and other New York broadcasted programs.

And when will fans get to see the cobra next? Breheny did not disclose that to news. But the Reptile House will now reopen by next week. For the meantime, “She’s alive and well … resting comfortably and secure.”

“Based on our knowledge of the natural history and behavior of snakes, we know they seek closed-in spaces and are not comfortable in open areas,” the zoo had said earlier this week.

Tampa Florida Tornado Destroys Radio Tower

Tampa Florida Tornado Destroys Radio Tower

CORAL GABLES (LALATE) – Today’s Tampa Florida tornado didn’t injury any police but destroyed their radio tower. The Florida tornado passed by the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office. When it was done, it bent the Sheriff’s Administration Building’s 220 foot radio tower, in half.

The tower, located in Largo, luckily was the Office’s backup tower, not its primary.

Elsewhere, the destruction has been widespread. While Lakeland Linder Regional Airport did suffer damage, Lakeland Sgt. Terri Smith has since updated a previous news report of 70 airport patrons trapped as incorrect.

Earlier today, local news had reported to CNN that 70 patrons were trapped inside the Sun ‘n’ Fun Aviation Fair at the Lakeland Linder Regional Airport in Florida. In a news statement, Smith says that report was in error stating “all persons so far have been accounted for.”

The National Weather Service has issued the following statement to news midday Thursday. “A tornado watch for portions of Central and Southern Florida and Coastal Waters [has been issued] effective this Thursday afternoon and evening from 12:45 PM until 8 PM EDT.”

It added that “the tornado watch area is approximately … fifty miles east of Fort Meyers, Florida.” The NWS is alerting news of possible thunderstorm gusts upwards of 80 mph and hail up to 1.5 inches in diameter.
