LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Gina Carano (photos below) will join Strikeforce’s Fedor vs Silva results tonight for a major news announcement. Gina Carano (photos below) is returning to the ring. Gina Carano who heated up Maxim pictures in October 2010 has been out of the spotlight since her 2009 fight. But tonight she will apparently announce her return during the Strikeforce showdown, local news is reporting.
In August that year, Gina Carano made news with her highly publicized fight against Cris Cyborg. Carano lost that match during a first round TKO.
One year earlier, Carano told news “I am a recognized female in the sport, but I don’t think that I am the face of women’s MMA.” When asked if she liked labels, Carano said she did not. “I’m Gina Carano. You can label me that.”

Carano’s fight against Cristiane Cyborg Santos didn’t deliver what news nor fans had expected. During pre-match questioning, nearly 61% of viewers said they expected the fight to go three to five rounds, with over forty percent expecting a third round conclusion.
But after twelve consecutive hits, Cyborg was done with Carano. With nearly fourteen thousand spectators in attendance at the HP Pavilion in San Jose that weekend, it wasn’t the result fans expected. Carano has recently been spotted training at Randy Couture’s gym (picture above).
In early Strikeforce results tonight, Sam Oropeza defeated Don Carlo-Clauss four minutes into round one, Josh Laberge defeated Anthony Leone via TKO in the first round, and Jason McLean defeated Kevin Roddy on a split decision.
