LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Funeral services for John Dye of Touched by an Angel have been released. Cause of death for John Dye has yet to be confirmed, but relatives believe the 47 year old actor died of heart failure.

John Dye died Monday in his San Francisco home. An autopsy is expected. A San Francisco Medical Examiner has yet to indicate initial findings into the beloved actor’s cause of death.

Funeral services are set for January 22 at St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church, in Amory, Mississippi. Memorial services have not been announced.

Medical examiner investigator Charles Cecil has been assigned to the case. Initial reports from family assert that Dye may have died of congestive heart failure.

Following news of his death,  co-star Valerie Bertinelli tweeted “Dear, sweet John Dye, rest in peace.” Dye appeared on Touched by an Angel with CBS for nine seasons starting in 1994. He also entertained audiences with roles on  “Murder, She Wrote”.

John Dye will be greatly missed.
