Bellagio Robbery Linked to Suncoast Casino Robbery

LAS VEGAS (LALATE) – The Bellagio robbery (video below) on Tuesday December 14, 2010 is linked to the Suncoast Casino robbery on Thursday December 9, 2010, says police. The Bellagio robbery was caught on tape yesterday. The casino heist that less than time than the fastest scenes in Oceans Eleven. Police confirm that the Bellagio robbery resulted in a theft of $1.5 million in casino chips in less than three minutes. Even the surveillance video doesn’t show the robber particularly rushing out the front door.
Police still don’t have a suspect.
On Thursday, the robber hit the Suncoast Hotel and Casino at 12:30 am. The casino was hosting a poker tournament. The robber drove up his motorcycle to the Suncoast, parked it near the valet station, walked into the casino, approached the cage handling the tournament’s chips, and got out with $20,.
On Tuesday, he did the same thing with the Bellagio hotel. But this time he approached a pit, not a cage, and got out with $1.5 million in chips, not cash. Police would not explain why the robbery targeted chips. The Bellagio hit was at 3:50 am. Casino officials would not detail why one particular pit was targeted, nor if the time of the heist corresponded with any particular Bellagio casino tournament.
