Ironically, their individual careers had done the same.

While Efron’s career is on fire, with countless movies lined up and even producing deals, Hudgens’ career hasn’t been as stellar. The couple that fell in love on High School Musical in 2006 now say its time to dance to a different beat.

She’s 22, he’s 23. But for LALATE readers, Hudgens and Efron were along with Kim Kardashian, Reggie Bush, Clay Aiken, and Chris Brown were the original top six celebrities back in 2007 that dominated celebrity news reports.

But along the way, some of the news interviews were peculiar Efron had told news he didn’t want to get married. In 2008, and in 2009, the couple defended against false reports that they were engaged. But Efron told GQ Magazine in 2009 that he’s not getting married in 2009, or anytime soon.
