SAN FRANCISCO (LALATE)  -  Jon Gruden is a front runner for both the Browns and 49ers head coach position, says reports. Jon Gruden is on the short list of possible candidates for the Browns and 49ers says reports Friday, but will he consider the possible positions?

For the Browns, reports put former Carolina Panthers coach John Fox and Gruden as the top two candidates. For the 49ers, it’s Gruden with Stanford’s Jim Harbaugh.

Adam Schefter earlier this week said the likely candidate for San Francisco is Jim Harbaugh, not even mentioning fellow ESPN talent Gruden in the report. But on Friday, John Clayton reported that Gruden and Fox are clear possible candidates for a potential Browns position.

Gruden at age 47 has a 95-81 record with two teams, becoming the youngest head coach to win a Super Bowl while at Tampa. But his first NFL job was given to him by the Browns’ current President in 1990, reports the Cleveland Leader.

Just thirty days ago, Gruden turned down the UM reported offer that would have paid him a possible $3 million annually. Gruden at the time said he was committed to staying with his broadcast TV job. But Florida news reports said Gruden was interested in a top NFL job, if offered.

Paul Krepelka is Jenny McCarthy’s new boyfriend, claims a new report in today’s PEOPLE. Paul Krepelka news comes ironically the same day that McCarthy is hosting a TV special for New Years. PEOPLE previously ran exclusives about McCarthy’s relationship with Jason Toohey ealier this year and McCarthy’s previous split from Jim Carey.

In May 20010, McCarthy revealed she had rebounded from her split from Jim Carey to date a 35 year old former fitness model from Las Vegas. “I got the book deal the same time Jim and I split after five years together. While researching and writing it, I looked inside of myself and began to see what was wrong with me instead of blaming him for everything” McCarthy said at the time.

Toohey was a former pirate in Treasure Island’s Sirens of TI show and now founder of Eyedews, an under-eye mask treatment. But now McCarthey has found love with Krepelka, an entertainment sports attorney. Jenny appears tonight on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest.

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Kim Kardashian’s cornrows photos have drawn criticism Friday. Kim Kardashian’s cornrows were debuted in Los Angeles yesterday, hours after Kardashian hit the recording studio in her pursuit to “sing” for Kanye West.

The Kardashian publicity machine tried its latest round Thursday as she debuted cornrows, but has it backfired?

The reaction has been exceptionally negative across news sites Friday. On US Magazine, one reader writes “This doesn’t look right on her. Sorry Kim. ” On OK! Magazine, one reader contended Kardashian looks hot despite any hair style, while others wrote disgust with the look.

“Oh no no no, that is awful look, bring back the curls, she looks amazing with them, this is a disaster, I do not think anyone can pull of this look and appear attractive”.

NEW YORK (LALATE) – The Knicks are second in the Atlantic division. But a year ago, the Knicks were battling a losing season that had virtually everything going wrong from them, even claims that they couldn’t sleep because of the Skirvin crying baby ghost in their room.

Just one year ago this week, the Knicks were deep in a season that had few things going well, a season that ended with a 29-53 record. In fact, the Knicks had had a losing record three seasons before that. In 2007, the team barely won 23 games. But now as we enter January, the team has already won 18 games and is second in the Atlantic standings behind Boston.

But back in January 2010, the team even blamed ghosts on their losing records, the most notable being the Skirvin crying baby and his mother. That month, the team were set to battle the Oklahoma City Thunder. So they stayed at the Skirvin Hilton, a hotel long noted for alleged paranormal activity.

In the 1930s, a woman jumped to her death at the Skirvin Hotel while holding her baby in her arms, claims legend. Eddy Curry told the news at the time that he stayed on the 10th Floor the night before his Thunder game. That’s the same floor the woman alleged jumped with her crying baby. Curry said he had to switch to Nate Robinson’s room because he couldn’t sleep. Other players say they couldn’t sleep that night and heard ghosts like the baby all night long.

One NBA player told the New York Daily News at the time “I definitely believe it … The place is haunted. It’s scary.”

But the ghosts are gone (for now) and the Knicks are dominating this season overall. Even though they are poor on rebounds, they are 12th in the league overall in assists per game and second overall in scoring.  Amare Stoudemire is leading the team with 26.4 points, nine rebounds, and two blocks per game.

CINCINNATI, Ark (LALATE) – A tornado striking Cincinnati, Arkansas has killed as at least three people today. Cincinnati’s tornado set down in seasonably warm temperatures. Winds from the Gulf brought temps as warm as 70 degrees Thursday.

Local weather reports immediately warned residents of pending tornado activity on Friday. Nine minutes after tornado alerts were issued, a significant tornado set down at 6 am local time.

The Arkansas Department of Emergency Management says damage is widespread.

Highway 16 in sections of Benton County was closed Friday. A fire station in Cincinnati suffered a collapsed roof. The last reported tornado on New Years Eve was in 1975.

Washington County EMS has yet to release the name of the victims. 18,000 Ozarks Electric customer are back with power midday after outages earlier Friday.
